Editorial review from Citysearch 12/19/2012

Watch out if you want to come here close to their closing time. I showed up at 7:30 to find all the doors locked and their phone turned off, even though they are supposed to close at 8. When did manage to get in and they reluctantly saw me, they were less-than-polite, since I guess I was keeping them from going home early. more

Bad Experience 3/30/2012

I took my Mother in to UNC Urgent Care and I while I was waiting in the waiting room for her to be taken back. During this time the receptionist became angry at a Nurse. She yelled and this made me very un-comfortable. This behavior was un-acceptable and should be addressed and discussed with the employee to ensure that this does not occur again. If one of my employees behaved this way in front of a customer they would be terminated immediately. No questions asked. I do not recommend this facility. more

Diamond in the rough! 3/27/2012

Close to my home, this place saved us from a lengthy wait in the ED! Thank you thank you! Staff was willing to explain everything and take their time caring for my husband rather than pushing us through the normal 'assembly line' urgent care mentality. Super nice people and a doctor that actually made us feel like he cared!\r \r I highly recommend checking this place out...only if you need it of course :) more

Frightening experience 3/25/2012

A young man came in with a cut finger - whose knows how bad because the nurse didn't look. Although it was bleeding profusely. He was scared and begging to be seen. The receptionist - long desensitized told him to 'fill out papers' - but how without a hand? He asked for a manager - the nurse came and told him 'he'd have to wait his turn behind the other 9 patients'. He was threatened to have the police called on him if he didn't settle down. There was one doctor only. We were seen but the doctor did not leave the orders as she had described - we had questions but were told we'd have to wait behind the 9 patients and have 'another visit'. We left - it became increasingly clear this place was not where we needed to be. I recommend taking your chances at either Duke ER or UNC ER - both have got to be safer than this place. more

My experience 3/21/2012

UNC Urgent Care is a joke. The receptionist was rude and obviously inconvienced by patients showing up. After waiting 45 minutes I was finally seen and the doctor seemed to be nice but scattered. She claimed she was going to write me prescriptions for two things and then sent the nurse in with two completely different drugs, neither of which I could use (I am allergic to one and they discontinued the other...which I mentioned). I informed the nurse that a mistake had been made and she said she would get the doctor asap. I waited another half hour during which time some guy who had completely severed his finger came in and they made wait behind people that were in just for colds and stuff while he was bleeding out on the floor and they were also extremely rude and insensitive to him as well. FInally after waiting 30 mins the nurse (who was also rude) came out and told me I would have to wait behind everyone else and pay another consultation fee if I wanted to get the mistake taken care of (it would have taken 3 mins to correct) and the wait would have taken about another hour and a half while I was sick and in a lot of pain. Going there was a horrible experience and I would not recommend them to anyone! more
