I booked an appointment with Ultra Salon for pedicures and manicures the day before my wedding. The appointment was for Friday, April 1st, 2011. The customer service over the phone was great- Julie (or Julia?) was very polite and accommodating, saying she would ""squeeze"" us in at the time we wanted.
However, when we arrived (an hour after it opened) for our appointment, the salon was dirty and all the employees were hanging out, relaxing, upstairs. It looked as if the salon hadn't been cleaned for a few days. As far as ""squeezing"" us in- there were no other appointments booked directly before OR after us, so I am still unaware of what the manager meant by this.
There were 4 of us total, but only 2 pedicure stations and 2 manicure stations, so we had to be split up. No big deal, really, but I wish I was made aware of this over the phone. Now, instead of going through every detail that disturbed us, I will just say the basics- the floor was covered in hair and I was uncomfortable walking around in flip flops, my pedicure was short and uneventful, my manicure was even worse than my pedicure as it only consisted of lotion on my hands and a paint job (no cuticle trimming, no filing, etc), the salon appeared to be more kid-friendly than anything, which is no big deal, but the staff didn't appear (or sound) kid-friendly. To further our disappointment, the staff was very unprofessional- discussing drinking and hangovers in front of my 10-year-old bridesmaid.
After we left, we had to fix 3 out of 4 of the pedicures that they did and 2 out of 3 of the manicures they did. Needless to say, I was quite upset since this was supposed to be a fun experience the day before my wedding.
I wrote the company a letter stating my issues and never received a response. This tells me they could care less about losing us as customers.
I suggest never setting foot in this salon for anything as I honestly think you will be disappointed. I hope no one has the same experience that my bridesmaids and I did. I will never return and will suggest to others to do the same.
