Scary scam! I was outside my home and an suv pulled into my driveway. A lady got out and somehow talked me into letting HER clean the carpet in one room for free. (normally I say no thankyou)..she looked well groomed and I got fooled. Plus my husband was home so I felt safe..I was wondering how SHE felt safe to come inside my home but she was very confident. So she comes inside and we show her a room to clean..she then says she will vacuum the carpets first. She goes outside and I vacuum for her since she is supposed to shampoo the carpets...this is where it gets weird. A tall black man walks inside and he is the person who is going to clean the carpet..I had no idea there was another person with her! This lady never introduced herself and then left our home..saying she has to go to another house. My husband was with the guy in our bedroom when he whipped out his Kirby vacuum than he assembled. Once my husband saw this bait and switch he told the guy not to worry about shampooing the carpets..just vacuum. (he wanted this over asap). The guy vacuumed..and asked to use our bathroom..then started talking about his personal life. The guy was nice enough..but had been driking..my husband could smell it on him. Finally he's ready to leave..we ak go outside on the porch to wait for his ride to pick him up..while he proceeds to ask for liquor. We said we didn't have any and he didn't believe us..he kept saying I know you have some in your house. His ride finally arrives..it's dark and we never saw the woman but we did see a man driving the same vehicle that dropped him off. So the moral of the story is..go with your gut and do not let anyone into your home ever!! more

SCAM 4/4/2012

These people are very intriguing to get into your home, but for your protection DO NOT let them in. They tell you they will be there for a few minutes and are in your home for about 4 hours. Our situation was: a man knocked on our door with a bottle of downy in his hand, telling me they are giving them away as long as we allow them to demonstrate their product. My husband and I agreed and let them in, HUGE mistake on our part. The guy that knocked on our door isn't even the man that showed the product, instead he called out to an suv and had his partner, Jack and a new girl come into our home. Jack informed me he would only take a few minutes, which was fine with me. We had no intention of purchasing this Kirby. 3 1/2 hours later they are still in our home showing this product. My husband and I really liked all that it could do and decided to purchase one. Jack completed all the paperwork and had my husband to sign a contract, that clearly states you have 3 days to cancel with no further obligation. Jack decided he wanted to get us a new machine that had never been demonstrated, so he calls his team leader Kristy and informs her to bring him a new machine. Kristy informs Jack that it will be a few minutes, she decides she needs to go home get her son and take him to soccer practice then come back to deal with customers. 30 minutes later Kristy arrives and Jack puts together our new machine and makes sure we are comfortable with the machine. Finally, they are out of our home. The next morning, my husband and I are reviewing the contract and talking about our purchase. We decided that we wanted to return the product, so I try to call there office around 3pm, there's no answer their answering machine states their business hours are from 9:30 to 3:30pm. I proceed to leave a message. I was never called back from that call. The down payment that we paid down on this machine was taken out of our account the following day as well. On Wednesday morning, I decided to call them back at 9:30, 9:45, and 10am, still no answer. I leave 3 messages, still no callback. My husband arrives home from work early around 2:30 and decides to call. No answer, he leaves a message and still no call back. We sent a signed copy of the contract to this company via certified letter yesterday. Any legitimate company, would answer their phone. Do not fall for these people to come into your home and allow this to happen to you. This has been a nightmare and we are just trying to return something we don't want. more

On 7/16/2011 a lady went to my Mother's home to demonstrate a Kirby Vacuum cleaner. Mom has a new vacuum and informed the lady that she was not interested. The lady continue to beg ""please let me demonstrate and I will clean one room free so that I can win a trip"". She was allowed to enter the home and decided on the room to clean at no charge. She then went outside to get the equipment - a man entered the house with the equipment and started to work on the room. Mom asked where the lady went and he told her that she had left and he was going to do the cleaning. Mom then called her son to come to her house because she was afraid of this person that she had not seen before. While he was in the house he asked to use the bathroom, she wondered if he was checking to see if she had any medicines. The man finished the job and sat down to wait on the lady to return - after 3 1/2 hours of being at her house her daughter-in-law called to see if he was still there, which he was, she informed my Mom if he did not leave in 10 minutes she was calling the police. He then called someone to come and pick him up. The person that came to pick him up was not the lady that had dropped him off, she tried to get the license number of the vehicle. They probably knew this because they pulled into the circle driveway to load the vacuum - then they backed out so no one could see the license plate. Very unprofessional so don't let them into your home! more

Unprofessional conduct & Drug Usage 7/20/2010

My daughter went to train w/ the folks for a job. Not only did they goof around all day but took her out of state w/ no transportation back home, did drugs while she was in the car multiple times, smoking pot & taking xanex. One of the salesmen was doing cocaine given to him by the owner of the company. All my daughter was trying to do is get work to provide for her family. This job was hazardous. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY if you want a valuable product. Her words ""I got there at 9am as requested i sat there until about 12 then they said i was going with this one team - got in the car we went out to eat, then to their house to wait on another, finally got on the road about 230 and then they smoked pot and pop xantx countless times and finally got home about 11pm. the team leader was the brother of the owner and he was doing cocaine. the owner was the one that gave him the cocaine. i was stuck in Kentucky with no car to leave and go home.""
