CONTINUED - This jerk is a true piece of work! 4/18/2012

On the day of return, I handed the air-head the keys; he left to check the mileage. The air-head came back and said: ?you went 783 miles over, where did you go?? I simply told the jerk I went to Columbia and back twice and did more driving while I was in Columbia. The jerk looked at me and said: ?there was no way you just drove to Columbia and used up 783 miles, you went further than that.? Guys, I just wanted to spit on this jerks face for insulting me and I nearly did but I kept my cools! I made myself crystal-clear and I told the jerk that I did not go further than Columbia, I had no reason to! The jerk left the counter a second time and as I stood there watching, the jerk started looking over the already banged up car as though he was looking over a $100,000 2012 Bentley! I mean seriously everyone, this guy has a bird brain for a brain! The car had dents all over it prior to him renting it to me. He came back to the counter, grabbed his calculator and started punching numbers into it and as he was doing this he said: ?you are only allowed 150 miles per day; you went 783 over at 0.20 cents per miles; you owe $46 and I?ll keep what?s left of your deposit which was $40!? I replied and asked him to show me on paper where it states that. He started moving papers around as though he was making an effort to answer my question but he didn?t know the answer to my question; instead he picked up the office phone and called his boss. Apparently his boss told him to tell me to call it even. $220 for a three day rental and yet he was trying to get me to pay him more for going over the allotted mileage? Hmmm, seems to me the jerk was trying to make a quick $46! What a true piece of work! The only thing the jerk talked about the day he picked me up was how proud he was to be married to a woman from guam! WELL BIG DEAL! Finally, I always use Avis or Thrifty but I had to settle for this ?other alternative? because my credit card payment had not posted on time! BUT NEVER EVER AGAIN! So everyone, if you don?t have a major credit card or full coverage, don?t go to U Save auto rental, go to Triangle Rent A Car at the end of I-526 & Savannah Highway! I will keep an eye out on this guy!!!! more

The name of this Jerk is HERB 4/18/2012

On April 2nd I called U Save Rental right before closing. The guy (a black guy by the name of HERB) was nice enough pick me up. At the counter I gave him $220 which includes a 2-day rental at $60/day and $100 deposit; I signed the contract and he said: ?you can drive 150 miles per day and anything over that is 0.20 cents per mile.? Hmmmmm?.that was odd because it was nowhere in the contract. Back to this later! Moving forward, I thought the car he picked me up in was the vehicle I will be using for my rental. I asked him if it was and he said: ?no, because it just got out of the shop and I don?t know whats been done to it.? I also found that odd; somehow my spirit did not agree with this guy, something about this guy I did not trust. I got into the vehicle he rented to me and drove out of the lot. 30 seconds into my drive the car began to jerk and smoke started coming out from under the hood. I thought I was going to be stranded on the road at a very busy intersection. I immediately turned around and made it back to the car lot. By the time I got there the air-head had already left. I was angry beyond words I must?ve called the office 20 times hoping he would answer. No answer, just the answering machine. I went next door to the Postal Office and told the young lady working there what just happened; she told me the customers usually call his cell phone. Well, I didn?t think I will need his cell phone number and why would I anyway? Needlesstosay, I know to this day that jerk knew about the bad condition of the car and yet he rented it to me! Who knows why he did that but that was purely bad business! What I do know is the air-head is incompetent and again, my experience with him was just purely bad business to say the least! I had to get home so I risked driving the smoking vehicle and again, luckily I made it! I was not going to make it to Columbia on time for my 8:30am class. It was not until 8:45 the next morning was when the air-head came with the same vehicle he picked me up in and swapped it out for the crappy one he gave me. I mean how dumb can someone be? Why didn?t he just give me the vehicle he picked me up in to begin with; it would?ve saved me the heartache of being late for class. Half my day had already gone down the drain. I called the air-head on my way to Columbia to make sure I will not be charged for the day he gave me the crappy car. On thursday, I called the air-head and inform him I will be keeping the vehicle an extra day. He took the extra day off my deposit! more
