Best Customer Service in Ellijay 1/10/2011

I needed to rent a UHaul to move some furniture from Ellijay to Pensacola Florida on New Years weekend. UHaul was closed on Saturday, Sunday and Monday of that weekend. I wanted to pick up the truck on Sunday night or early Monday morning to pack and hit the road. more

Do Not Recommend 6/29/2010

Jeff was very rude and wanted me to do his job. After waiting 5 minutes for him to come and unlock the door. He came out looked at the truck and then told me I had to bring in the dolly and fold and bring in the blankets also. I said they were in the truck when I got it and he said "we try and multi-task here" and proceeded to walk back into the office. I did fold the blankets as they were folded when I received the truck. After folding the blankets and stacking them I went inside to find him "multi-tasking" which was eating his Taco Bell lunch. When I entered he said "you need to bring the equipment in” I said "it was in the truck when I got and that I was not bring it in." He did not like this and proceeded to tell me it was in the contract I signed. I asked him to show me where and he threw the paper work at me. I asked for him to show me where it says that the customer needs to bring the rental equipment into the office and he said "that was not his responsibility to find it on the contract" I responded "so it's not on there and lets call U-Haul and see what they say" he said "go for it" and said call "1-800-go-uhaul” I said "what are the actual digits" as I do not have the letters on the numbers on my phone. He said "I don't know it is probably on one of these pamphlets" I looked but only found the number if you break down. I decided to wait. He had not begun to input my return info on the computer while I was folding the blankets, he was eating lunch. He was pretty mad at this point. He said "well your 5 minutes late and I am going to charge you” I said "no I am not, I had to wait 5 minutes for you to unlock the door and you were eating your lunch when you should have been inputting my return info" as he proceeded to input my return it was 7 minutes early, which he replied "you are very lucky, you are 7 minutes early" I told him I had met the owner at a BBB meeting a while back. He said "o yea how long ago" with an attitude. I said "about a year ago” and he replied "well we (family owned) took it over 2 months ago". This is not the customer service that the previous owner would have tolerated. He asked me if I would like to talk to the new owner. I said yes and he ripped a piece of paper off the computer screen and went to hand it to me, I said "he could just write it down” he did on my return paper work. as I proceeded to walk out he said "I know what he is going to tell you” I replied "you do not even know what I am going to say to him" and he said "do not come back we do not want your business” I am very disappointed in the service by your representative Jeff at American Storage and U-Haul in Ellijay Georgia. I do not plan on returning to this location and also plan on calling the owner today. I will not be back or recommend them to anyone; I would recommend staying away from this location for any storage or U-Haul rental needs. I would be glad to discuss this further if you would like.
