U Save Movers & Storage

I've used USave twice. I wish now that I had not used them this last time. The owner talks a lot and tries to get you to feel sorry for him...he promises things and then doesn't come through. I moved literally across Hwy 17 with my stuff (just me and my son) and my bill was just under $700. The first time he moved me, he used a huge truck and only had to make one trip - even went over to Daniel Island and got some furniture from where my dad lived. This time, he shows up with a trailer and one behind it - assuring me it was the same square footage. But this time, it took them two trips, less furniture, and we didn't have to go to Daniel Island - and my bill was only slightly less than my first move. In fact, this move, I'd taken 80% of the boxes over two days prior to the furniture being moved, so it was clearly way less to move this time for them. NIGHTMARE. Do not hire this company. The owner is a hot-tempered con-artist. He told us he'd have a huge truck, a van, a trailer and 6 guys to move us out of our 3,200 sq ft house. The night before, he gave us a sob story about a poor guy whose things were loaded on the truck and who begged them to leave it all there for a few days- but not to worry- he'd rent a big U-Haul at no extra cost to us. The morning of the move, he arrived late with only five guys, a van and a trailer, and said that if we wanted a U-Haul we'd have to drive him there to get it and we'd lose valuable time and money. He also told us to have the cleaning crew come to the old house at noon. At noon, he only had the master bedroom moved out. When I asked him what I should tell the cleaners, he went completely ballistic and said he was quitting. He went back to work and said he'd stay until every single thing was moved. At 7pm, he quit. He said they were all tired and hungry and that there were only a few more
