Richard Gauthier took our boat motor to sell on a consignment basis in 2006. When We contacted him about the motor in October of 2007, he told us it had been sold and he would mail us the check for it. We never received it. I contacted him 8 times between 10/2007- 8/2008 about receiving payment until he eventually stopped picking up phone calls from both my work and cell phone numbers. I had received a number of excuses mostly him telling me that his wife handled the books and she wasn't sending the payments to him having kidney transplant surgery and that had put him behind in mailing the payments. So after 10 months of nonpayment, I posted a negative review on Google about him and forgot about him since the $800 he owed me was not worth fighting in small claims court in Natchitoches, LA since we live in Shreveport, LA. On July 6, 2009 almost 3 years after we consigned our boat motor with Mr. Gauthier, he realized I had posted a negative review and called us to demand it be taken down. I asked him once again to pay us the money he owed us, and he told us he would rather take me to court since, ""Technically"" the consignment was made between him and my husband and I am the one that wrote the negative review. He acknowledged that he owed us the money, but said he would use it to hire his lawyer instead of pay us. I can not urge you enough to stay away from this company.
Pros: None.
Cons: Does not pay consignment monies.
