Twenty Gauge

I had to write about this company. First their showroom is in this huge warehouse like store, and the structure alone is worth the trip. BUT the best part is their selection-a trove of cool... the coolest salvage/vintage pieces ever. I bought a Twenty Gauge desk and the finish was impeccable. Especially given the fact that these pieces are 50 + years old, the fact that they can get them to look so pristine is amazing. They also powdercoat - their people are VERY knowledgeable in all things vintage AND the best way to finish pieces. It shows. I love my desk. Thank you. more

i tried to give a no star review, but i had to choose one... one star is more than Twenty Gauge deserves... Twenty Gauge mishandled every aspect of my order... i sent them a picture of what i wanted and after 3 attempts, and twice the amount of time they told me... they delivered furniture not worth a tenth of what i paid... the supposed ""polished steel"" finish is awful. It looks like primer gray with sanding scratches all over it and looks nothing like the pictures on their website... they claimed that it was ""hand sanding touches""... absolute nonsense... this was supposed to be professionally finished polished steel furniture, not the abomination they sent me... i put down 50% on the order, and they were supposed to collect the remaining 50% after delivery... instead they charged me the full amount months before i even got the furniture... they basically knew that they mishandled every aspect of my order, and wanted to make sure that i could NOT get my money back, so they took the full amount and forced me to compromise and continue with my order, even when they could not give me what i was initially promised... i demanded a refund, they refused. i demanded a partial refund to have the furniture refinished properly... they also refused... i was forced to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau... if you want details and/or the lengty email correspondence i had with Twenty Gauge and it's owner, i would be glad to send it to you... i just don't want anybody to be taken advantage of the way i was... Avoid Twenty Gauge unless you want to get ripped off... more

I got a desk from Twenty Gauge. It was a gift for my girlfriend for her birthday, and they did a 3 color combination in less than 3 weeks, delivered to us in San Francisco, overnight and for $116 delivery only! Pros: Easy transaction and beautiful quality, speedy delivery...highly recommended! Cons: Need more stores!!! more
