Finally, great Italian! 9/1/2002

I typically dislike Italian in the city of Portland. I just don't like most of the dishes I've had over the years. My family decided to try Tuscany Grill the other night, and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. We tried the mozarella & tomatoes, spinach ravioli, linguini & clams, scillian pork chops (with delicious garlic mashed potatoes!), and asparagas risotto. Each plate was distinctly different, tasty, and included generous portions. Don't pass this place up. more

Like Grandma Used To Make 8/26/2002

Authentic cuisine like a Tuscan grandma would make. Great wine and service without pretentions. My favorite place to go out. Pros: Value, Choice, Location more

Best Restaurant in Portland! 8/17/2002

My husband and I dine all over Portland as well as in cities around the world. There is no restaurant that consistently makes us feel more welcome and more at home than Tuscany Grill. Their service is friendly and genuine and the food is always thoughtfully prepared. We especially enjoy that the menu changes with the seasons reflecting the use of local organic ingredients. We've been dining there for years and strongly recommend it to visitors and locals alike! Pros: Valet Parking, Romantic, Inexpensive more

Don't overlook this one... 7/22/2002

The next time you can't get a table at Cafe Mingo, go next door, and you won't go back. more

A sad decline 6/21/2002

My husband and I used to love this place. Went there on all special occasions. Went there the other night and found great service, but terrible food. No longer worth the hefty price tag -overcooked, gummy gnocchi. Sorry guys - I don't know if you changed chefs or what, but you know longer have my business. more

  • In Short
Exposed beams, chandeliers hanging from rope and pulleys, wooden farm tools and mirrors accent the dining room. Amber walls radiate a glow over diners at tables topped with brown paper. Fresh mozzarella blends with heirloom tomatoes, basil and balsamic dressing. Saffron broth mingles with homemade gnocchi, rock shrimp and caramelized onions. Scaloppine is served old-style: Veal layered with prosciutto and sage on spinach. Tiramisu is arranged in glass lined with ladyfingers for dipping.
