Tuckaway Child Development Ctr

My wife and I were looking for a kindergarten prep class for our daughter b/c she technically too young for public school kind. That, and we're pretty freaked out at the overcrowding at public schools. When we found out that Tuckaway had a private kind (neighbor told us) we decided to take a look. The teacher is nice, but young. We've watched very closely and although she's young, she is definitely on the ball and is focused with a great plan every day. Our daughter is already learning fast! If you want your child to actually LEARN something, Tuckaway Innsbrook's private kindergarten is just what this Mommy and Daddy ordered! more

I took my child out of Tuckaway because on three different occasions she cut her hair while under their 'supervision.' Now I know two year olds get into everything, so I forgave the first incident as oversight, and the second incident occurred after the children had been moved into another room, with the older children (that's another story.) In the third instance, my child cut her hair with the scissers from the MEDICAL CARE KIT! Repeatedly the staff avoided taking responsibility for this happening and blamed it on my curious child. Please, Please Please do not send your child to Tuckaway. This was the Tuckahoe branch but since my complaints were never addressed by upper management, I would not send my child to any of the branches. Since, I have switched to Skipwith Academy and we love it and would recommend it to anyone. Cons: Everything more

My wife and I had heard our friends talk about Tuckaway for years, and when we finally had our own, we had to check them out. We were pretty impressed, but what really sold us was how comfortable our son was, even during our tour. He took off and left us behind as soon as he saw the playground. He joined right in with the kids playing. It was as if he had spent his whole life at Tuckaway. My wife and I are equally as impressed with how much he's learning every day. Pros: Well designed school, my son loves going every day, my wife loves the staff, they just lowered their prices! Cons: We're still pretty new, but I can't think of any more
