I went there today on my lunch. I ordered and when the cashier ran my debit card he said it was declined, I told him I just got paid. He ran it again and it was still declined. I apologized and started to walk out. Before I reached the door, he was yelling to the other patrons"" No money, no money"". I knew there was money in my account so I went accross the street and went to the ATM machine. I got a $20. I went back to the the restaurant. The friendly cashier saw the $20 in my hand and asked if I wanted the food now. I told him no and that I do have money in that same account and I appreciated his comments. I understand about machine foul ups but to make comments like that is just unacceptable to me. more

Not going to earn a Michelin star, that's for sure 10/14/2008

This was my first experience with Chinese food in Des Moines. I can't say that the other reviewer is wrong in ranking it the ""best in the South side"", but if that's the case, pickin's are slim. My sweetie and I ordered different dishes. They were edible, not dangerous in any biological sense, but that's about the best I can say for either dish.\r \r The fare seemed somewhat similar to that you might find in a mall food court. Chinese restaurants on my refuse-to-go list in other cities actually look inviting in comparison.\r \r In short, if you're from the area maybe, but if you hail from a locale with a bounty of good Asian eateries, this will not be your salvation. Pros: fast service Cons: Just not very good more

Best neighborhood Chinese restaurant on the South side. 1/1/2008

Great place for every member of your family. Great service as well as great food. I highly recommend it. more
