Oh So Tasty! 1/15/2009

The Trufflehunter is quaint and the service is friendly. I have been to many little restaurants from Mississippi Ave to Hawthorne and this is definitely one of my top three picks! Cozy and warm atmosphere and great food, large portion sizes too! more

Great food 1/12/2009

This place has great food and you get alot too. The sandwitches are HUGE and so are the portions on eveything else. If you like big portions and good food do come here. Oh ! and there prices are very good for all you get. Their home made bread is out of this world and you can even buy a loaf for home. Pros: All there food Cons: parking more

Amazingly big portions! Deliciously good! 11/12/2006

My wife took me there for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised! The Barbecue Beef Sandwich is huge and amazing. I could only eat half for lunch. Had the other half for dinner. Their homemade bread was perfect. Even the french fries were unique and authentic. Very tasty meal for a great price! Pros: Cozy atmosphere, good service, reasonable prices, huge portions. more

Best Place for that home made meal 8/3/2006

My husband and I eat here prob twice a month. The sandwiches are huge and awsome as are the dinners, and the burgers. My fav is the turkey burger with cranberry sandwich. The pies are awsome too. We order 5 of them for Thanksgiving the past couple of years. I highly suggest everyone to eat there at least once! Pros: Great Service, Great Food, Large Quanity Cons: Parking! more

The best is Best AGAIN! 6/7/2004

After changing to new owners for a short time Trufflehunter was much less than it was. We were disappointed with what they had become to say the least. Today we returned, and I am happy to say Trufflehunter is now even better than before! Portions that were the hallmark, along with their desserts and main courses, are now again massive and totally delicious. Gone are bags of chips. New is a freshly made gormet chip with a slight BBQ-vinegar flavor. The ""Light Eaters"" now offers your choice of great soups, freshly made fries or a salad. We enjoyed at truly great Hungarian Mushroom. If you left after the new owners came, now is the time to return! Pros: Cute home atmosphere, Great dessert tray, great sandwiches more

Higher rating as I try more 6/13/2003

The huge Reuben was just okay. The Pot Roast entrée was good, but they used cheap vegetables that weren't tasteful. I'd pass on the open-faced Turkey sandwich as it was dry, and again, they were served with those poor vegetables. Price was good for what you get, but a little confusing if you deviate: $1 to split, comes with what?, if you want more than it comes with, how much, etc.? Service was very friendly, and those desserts look good. Pros: Portions, price, Pot Roast Cons: Reuben is so-so, Turkey entree more

eating never tasted so good 2/1/2003

havent been out to the old trufflehunter in quite sometime....so the family and i decided to go and lo and behold they have changed their image and are changing their decor...this place is great... they still have the homemade bread and desserts, the service however is much better...(which is why we haven't been in so long) you no longer have to wait around....the pot roast is still great, add that with some toll house pie and i'm set for the night.. they also now serve breakfast 7 days a week Pros: good parking Cons: can be crowded more

I can't believe I ate the whole thing! 8/8/2002

Trufflehunter is a great restaurant with homemade bread and soups. They also have fantastic entrees. Portions are very large and you get your money's worth. THe desserts are fresh and some are unique to Trufflehunter. But be ready to wait. While the food is phenomenal the service tends to be VERY SLOW. This is a great place for a long romantic evening, or to catch up with old friends, as it is set in an old house in Gresham. Pros: portions, cost, variety Cons: service, service, service more
