Best

Amazing drinks and best enchiladas I've ever had, Only had bad service once, and it was a large table. I think he knew that he was getting his 18% gratuity and was being an ass j...

Worst

Honestly, I cannot think of a time that I went to Trudy's without a Mexican Martini on my mind. The food and the customer service were definitely not the things that brought me in...

Unfortunate Change 12/5/2002

Trudy's use to have good Margarita's, but in the past year they have changed something in them, and it isn't for the better. Too bad they saw a reason to change the good thing they had going. more

Yummy food -- GREAT service! 11/18/2002

Went with a few friends who raved about the mango and raspberry margaritas. I loved the migas and fajitas combo. Salsas were PHENOMENAL and the service was even better. more

no better 10/18/2002

trudys north is a better location to meat people and drink there ritas Pros: bar st5aff, drink prices, hours Cons: parking more

Don't order the house margaritas 10/10/2002

The top shelf margaritas are okay, but they are a little heavy on the mixer. Too much orange. The house margarits are nothing but sour mixer. more

Tasty Mexican 9/1/2002

I was visting Austin and craving Mexican. So I hit this page and came up with Trudy's. I was pleasntly suprised by the food and quick serivce. This is an excellent restaurant with good fresh food, but it can get a little expensive, so dont expect to come out under $9 a person. Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Service Cons: Somewhat Crowded, Slightly Expensive more

Mmm.... TexMex.... 8/20/2002

For me, TexMex is all about the salsa, and Trudy's does it right. That, and the jalapeno poppers, and the fajitas! Parking can be a problem, service is hit and miss. Pros: Food Cons: Parking more

best in austin 8/17/2002

a staple of austin...great prices and great service! there is a new poquito menu that is priced at $1.99...best deal in town! Pros: very inexpensive, good quality, great service more

lazy afternoon breakfast 8/14/2002

they serve until 3 on weekends! WISE management -- and the fresh OJ is delightful =) more

AWESOME! 7/26/2002

This is the best place in the state of Texas to get great and affordable Tex-Mex food! Pros: inexpensive, friendly staff, clean environment Cons: crowded at times, long waits, mixed up orders more

Organized Chaos 6/28/2002

Trudy's has great Tex-Mex food, not to be confused with Mexican food. And the drinks are great because they're cold and relatively cheap. If you're looking for swank, go to the warehouse district. As far as service goes, that place is amazing. It's constantly packed with loud people looking to eat as much as they can as quickly and cheaply as they can and the staff does all they can to ensure it happens. You won't see a waiter picking their teeth there, so have some compassion when it comes to tip time! Pros: Great Service, Good Comfort Food, Consistant Cons: Long Waits, Poor Parking, Long Waits more

Mexican martinis 5/18/2002

Fabulous happy hour spot. The Mexican martinis are phenomenal and the location is casual and lovely. UT students, professors and residents from the surrounding neighborhood mingle and relax. more

Limit two 5/16/2002

I can't vouch for the full menu--I've only ever eaten appetizers--but the Mexican martinis are above reproach. The mix of after-work and after-class crowd affords a variety of interesting eavesdropping opportunities. Opt for the patio. Pros: lots of parking Cons: wait for a table more

Trudy's rocks 5/16/2002

I like to sit outside when the weather is nice. The wait staff here is usually on top of their game. This is a good place to meet with friends over food and drinks. The mole enchiladas are sweet and very good. The ritas are very good. more
