My garage actually originally recommended Troy Waller (""He's not cheap but does good work.""). Upon arrival Troy Waller personally talked to me. I explained that I'm in a process to restore by car to mint conditions and I already invested more than $ 4,500 so far new engine + transmission. Only the exterior needed work to be done before the wintertime (BTW no custome job, just ordinary paint). Also I explained that I drove 1 1/2 hours to meet him. Troy did not even walk around my car, instead he said that his charges would surmount the value of my car. Again I reminded him that this is not true and even told him that I am a referral of one of his frequent business clients. Meanwhile another seemingly ""more important"" client arrived at the parking lot and although we were obviously not done yet Troy assured me that I'd have my estimate in the mail the next days. Then he hurried on to the other client. Since then (more than 6 weeks ago) I have not received any bid or request for missing information to complete it. It seems Troy Waller is too busy working with big insurance companies that he is not interested in ordinary people anymore. If he didn't need my $2,500 to 3,000 I might have spent, why would he be interested to fix the small dent or scratch at your car? My recommendation: go online, google ""body shop Fort Dodge, ia"" and contact one of the small shops all over the county - they do great (manual) work, no high-tech - but awesome quality and ask for much less than the big companies. They like to talk to you as a welcome client and are willing to listen to your preferences. Support middle-class average businesses and get superb quality hand-made in Iowa. Troy Waller does not want business at this time.
Pros: Big building, easy to find, big name in community.
Cons: Not interested in good customer service, prefers to work with big insurance companies and not average people.
