Despite the good buzz in the local reef community, I found Tropical Treasures to be a dismal excuse for a retailer. The tanks were extremely dirty. The staff was ignorant to customers. Dead fish or crabs were in every saltwater tank. On my last visit, a hermit crab was eating an anorexic looking seahorse, who was trying to escape.
Bottom line, I've given Tropical Treasures time to clean up their act. They are the only reef retailer on the NW side of town. They haven't. I now make the drive to 32nd street to a real retailer. It's worth every mile.
