Tropical Tan & Smoothies

Hi Gayle! This is Lisa, owner ofTropical Tan & Smoothies. I just wanted to mention that yes, during the time of the review left by Gayle, 4/2/12 (below comment)....the a/c units were being worked on.  Unfortunately, we were at the mercy of the a/c repair company that we have a contract with.  Since this review,  there has been AN ADDITIONAL a/c unit that has been added, plus one of the existing ones have been fixed.  So, what that means for you, our tanners, are that there are 3 a/c units that are working great!!  ( we were adding another a/c unit regardless,  because we addded two new beds at the end March 2012. Unfortunately, during the time of us adding the new unit, one of the existing units went out on us)  Come check us out!!!  You'll be happy you did.  I apologize for our a/c being down.....but it's nice and cool in there now!!  Whomever this is that wrote this post, please contact Lisa or Amy so we can compensate you for your inconvenience.  Enjoy & happy tanning!!! more

I have been tanning in tanning salons for about 8 years now and the worst experience I have had is at this tanning salon. All the employees are very nice and friendly and the beds have gotten me pretty tan but I think there should be a cut off limit for how many people can sign up or when someone signs up they should tell them that every single time they come in to tan they will have to wait anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour or more and let them make the decision of if they wanna deal with that every time they wanna tan. But my biggest problem with this salon is its always miserably hot! I have looked at the actual thermostat and its never read under 99 degrees every time I have looked. They only have the AC set on 72. I can hardly ever go the whole time because I feel sick I m so hot and the acrylics are so hot they literally burn my skin. I am sweating before I even get in the bed and when I sit down on the bed to get into it, the edge of it is so hot I can barely touch it. You would think as many people as they have signed up (and I know this because of my ridiculous wait time every time I go) that they would spend money on getting a better AC unit or adding an additional one to what they have because the heat alone makes every visit to this salon MISERABLE!!!! At one time they said their AC was broken but when they said it was fixed it did not feel any cooler! I would not be going to this tanning salon if I hadn t already paid for my package and I am literally counting down the days until my package is up! I would not recommend this tanning salon to ANYONE unless you wanna sweat to death!!!! more
