Great food, relaxing yet fun atmosphere 4/26/2009

The second con is it's too far from my house, darn it. The food is really good, both times we visited we had the curry, burger and shepherd's pie, all excellent. Claimed the curry was hot, really, you call that hot? Guess I better order the really hot one next time. Patrons seem to include a good variety of students, city workers and average folks just out for a beer. Had no problem bringing my toddler daughter either. I do like too it has no TV so it doesn't have that typical sports bar, too loud, overstimulated atmosphere. Pros: Comfort food, cozy place Cons: Wish was bigger more

Editorial
  • The Scene
Trials is a British pub where expats and others can drink an expertly poured Guinness and relax like they're visiting their mums. In fact, considering the lacey curtains, heavy leather chairs and framed paintings on flower-papered walls, you might feel like you really are at mom's house. The bar is lined with laid-back 20-somethings who'll joke with you over a pint. While the customers are homogeneously young and smart, everyone's made to feel welcome in proper British fashion.

    The Draw
There's Guinness and an assortment of other Irish and British pours available, including 17 beers on tap. For pub grub, try the shepherd's pie, bangers and mash, or sausage rolls. Fish-and-chips and chicken curry are also favorites, and there are rotating nightly dinner specials.
