When our well stopped working on a Sunday we called Tri-County Pump Service. They were one of 3 services we called, and the only ones willing and able to come out on a Sunday. The serviceman showed up in a timely manner. The pipe from the well had become corroded, and in an attempt to get our well fixed in the cheapest and quickest manner, he was unsuccessful and the pipe running down the well broke completely and fell along with the pump to the bottom of the well. He was very apologetic and arranged to have another service crew come back 1st am on Monday to complete the repair. He advised they would have everything they needed, but feared a new pump and line may be required. []We were contacted in the morning by the crew that they were on the way and confirmed our address and location. They arrived and worked for 3 hours trying to retrieve the old pump, but were unsuccessful. They didn't have enough pipe with them so they had to return to their warehouse to get supplies. After 3 hours travel time back and forth, they cam back and completed the new pump installation. They then called the office to confirm the total charges and presented us with a bill that was much higher than we thought it should be. We requested to contact the supervisor to discuss the charges and received a very unpleasant explanation that no discount was provided as the original fault was unavoidable. We pleaded our case that we understood the failure was inevitable, but that the loss of the original pump was something that we felt could have been controlled. In the end, the charge for the crane truck was removed but the charge for the pump(that they dropped) and needed supplies was not. Needless to say, I will not recommend this company.
