Incompetent! Zero customer service. We recently purchased a duplex but live out of town. We took possession in mid-October and started minor repairs (pulling the carpet, painting, etc.). When my wife returned in early December, the gas furnace had stopped working, so we called this firm for a service visit. Tony arrived as scheduled and spent an hour trying to fix it, all the while telling my wife that the furnace was old and we should buy a new one. He was pushing pretty hard (could install it for roughly $5,000!), so she decided to wait until I arrived a few days later and paid the $75 for the service call.
Fast forward four days. Heck, $5,000 is a lot of money so I decided to take a look myself. First thing was to check all the electrical breakers – yep, good to go. Next, check the pilot light. Hmmm, no pilot light. At that point, I figured that Tony was correct and the furnace was shot. But the lack of a pilot light was bugging me so the next day I looked a little further. Bingo, found the problem. We had transferred the electric account to our name but forgot about the Intermountain Gas account, and they had shut off the supply line at the meter. Duh, no wonder the furnace wasn’t working. OK, so even though I’m not a HVAC guy, seems to me that confirming a pilot light on a gas furnace is one of the first things to be checked. And Tony never did.
So, I called Tony on Friday afternoon and left a message letting him know what had happened and to please give me a call on Monday to discuss options. My thoughts were that everyone makes mistakes; no one was living in the duplex, so not really a big deal at this point. Monday arrives and no call. Nothing on Tuesday either. Left another message on Thursday. Still nothing. Called again on the following Monday morning. Once more, nothing and my patience is wearing thin. Called Tuesday evening asking … AGAIN … for a call back or I would escalate things. Guess what? Still nothing!!!! Stay clear of this firm!
