Trattoria Stefano

Every single item we ordered took far too long to receive, was grossly over seasoned and ridiculously over priced for the quality of the food. The room was extremely loud, to the point of not being able to hear the waiter. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees. The appetizer was a mix of hot and cold items, the cold items were cool, the hot ones were as well. My beef was cooked well, but the bedding it was placed on was over seasoned. The only thing genuinely worth eating was the Grouper, it was excellent. One good dish, $100 tab, slow service and noise levels of a construction site. This place is a rotten egg!!!! Dinner at Stefano's is a great event. The menu is authentic Italian made with fresh ingredients. One can even see the busy kitchen preparing the meals. The owner/chef is from an Italian family, and takes some of his staff to Italy every year so they can experience what he has created in Sheboygan, WI (a frugal German community). The menu has pasta dishes, seafood entrees, steak, and a variety of other choices. On my most recent visit, I had the veal chop which was absolutely fantastic. All the flavors came to me with the first bite--truly amazing. There is a nice selection of Italian wines, and many people come early to enjoy the small bar. Be sure to have a reservation on weekends as the place is very busy--you'll understand why after dining there!
