Although my dining experience was not pleasant I contacted the restaurant and relayed my displeasure and the Owner is willing to compensate me with either full refund or a meal on the house. the ""Tratt ""as my friends and family like to call this restaurant , is a great place to see and be seen. \r The food is always surprising and the chef is one of the most daring and creative in the city. I will attend any event that this restaurant participates in because there is always something different or some new technique that this young culinary star is willing to introduce oklahoma city to.\r If you will be attending a show at the civic center I suggest dining at the famous pizza theater in the middle of the dining room ( for those of you who watch the tv show hell's kitchen, you are right in the middle of the action without all the cursing and humiliation of the cooks that chef ramsay brings to your tv set ), instead you get to see the reality of hard work and communication that any successful business needs to become leaders in thier arena.\r My favorites at the time of this writing ( the menu changes seasonally ) the quatro stagioni pizza, housemade gnocchi with scallops, of course the rigatoni buttera and lastly the filet is one of the best in town for all of you beef eaters you won't be let down. Excellent service, ambience, choice and a rare dining experience in OKC. My husband and I have eaten here often and especially love the Monday night wine dinners (make reservations way in advance, usually booked months ahead). Seldom do I do restaurant reviews but after stumbling on this site and reading the scathing review of the TRAT by a previous reviewer I felt I needed to speak up! Since the reviewer also reviewed 19 other restaurants on the same day, giving only 1 or 2 a good review, decided he was just trying to disparage the restaurant for some reason???? Best Pizza. Incredibly impressive lunch. Excellent portions, great flavor, service & prices. I don't know what that other reviewer's problem was - sounded a little personal to me - but my group had an outstanding lunch. We ordered lots of different items so that we could try a variety & everything was really exceptional including presentations & desserts! You must try the Lemon Tart with the Rosemary Crust - really special. \r \r Nice job Trattoria - keep it up - we will be back! more

Ate lunch there today (2/27/08). Truly lousy, a perfect example of what's wrong with Oklahoma City. Kitschy, busy decor with large murals by someone with no knowledge of how to draw a human figure; a waitress who hands out lunch menus, then asks every single member of the party if they want the lunch portion of the entree they ordered; incorrect drink orders; rude manager who went to a customer (not at my table) and asked about a ""special order"" (risotto with vegetable of the day instead of pumpkin) and said that while the owner made it for the customer the week before, this chef might not be able to since the owner was sooooo talented and experienced (apparently didn't check with the chef first!); incredibly bland risotto (I ordered it with pumpkin); remarkably flavorless bread with an ill-conceived bean paste as dipping sauce; and tiny lunch portions (I usually take half my food home, even the smallest woman at our table finished every bite) make this place a true disgrace to our already unsophisticated city. In an era when OKC claims to be ""big league,"" this joint is nothing short of an embarassment. The owner obviously couldn't hack it in the big leagues, and thought the rubes would eat anything. My husband and I have visited several times. I love the place. The atmosphere is boisterous just like an Italian restaurant should be. The food is excellent. I especially love the pizza, very thin crust, as it should be and the break an egg in the center it tingles the tastebuds. The desserts are amazing. Love it Love it Love it. Can't wait to go again.
