Having traveled around the country and eaten at some of the countries best Italian restaurants; I was shocked to find that I didn't need to travel any more after eating at Trattoria Aroma. The Pizzas are some of the best this side of Rome, and the entrees showed a mastery of what it means to be from Italy. No you will not find meatballs smothered in red sauce, but you will find Italian food how it was meant to be. My biggest pet peeve is when pasta is over sauced. The course is nor called sauce it's called pasta; and at Trattoria Aroma they let the pasta shine. My favorite was the Pappardelle Piemonte. A dish that reflects the foods of Northern Italy's most famous region (Piemonte). The dish consists of mushrooms, spinach, roasted garlic, and truffle oil. They also do one of the best Sunday brunches in Buffalo with a bloody mary bar that has over 40 different mixes. Finally my review would not be complete without mentioning the staff. Our server was David, and he turned out to be one of the most knowledgeable and thoughtful servers we have had in a long time.
Pros: Great Bar, Entrees, Origional Cocktails, Wine List
Cons: Need reservations almost any night of the week (is that really a con?)
