Best

We have been here twice. Each time I ordered the scallops from the ""romancing the stone"" menu, but I had them cook them in the kitchen and they were perfect! Best texture ever...

Worst

Nice view, OK food, HORRIBLE service. 5/11/2011

We went to Trapper's for Mother's Day dinner around 6:45 PM on Sunday. We were seated right away - it was not crowded. That was the highpoint. We were not even acknowledged for over half an hour. Plenty of time to count the tables being served - about 18 and the number of waiters - 5! We finally were greeted, served water and eventually had our orders taken. Over an hour and a half after arriving we finally got our food. More than two hours after arriving I had to flag down the waiter to get my first and only water refill ! more

That was nasty greasy, overly creamy, watery...yuck! 1/8/2011

Why are people waiting for an hour to eat at Trappers? The salad dressing tasted like mildew and or mold. Marguritas were more like a mai-tai. The veggies were watery, sort of like you'd expect in my kitchen when I open a bag of frozen mixed veggies. Then soaked in butter. Potatos had so much cream and butter I was in the restroom a good deal of the night. more

Dead zone...Now I know why - complete incompetence! 11/13/2010

Wow, what utter incompetence! I called today at noon to make a reservation for tonight. The guy on the phone said ""we have no other reservations so any time you want is no problem."" When we arrived that evening, they had the reservation for the next night. They told us ""no problem, we have a couple of tables getting ready to leave"" and asked us to have a drink at the bar. (No offer to provide it on the house, but OK) The place was fairly empty even though it was Saturday night. At the bar we were greeted by a bartender who took our order. Fifteen minutes later she came by to see how we were doing with our drinks and said ""oops, I forgot to make your drinks."" (yeah, she actually said that out loud! Keep in mind the place is NOT BUSY!) After we finished our drinks (20 minutes later), we asked for the check. After 10 more minutes, still no check, so I laid a $20 on the bar and walked back to the hostess station. (I have no clue what those drinks cost. Either I stiffed them or left them a tip.) Forty-five minutes had passed since we arrived. I asked the hostess if they had forgotten about us. She seemed clueless as to who we were or the fact that she asked us to wait at the bar. OK, maybe if they were busy, but the entire time we waited, no more than 2-3 couples came in. I eat out a few times a week and can't remember service this bad, EVER. Needless to say, I won't be going back! more

Wasn't impressed. Won't be back. 7/25/2010

We splurged for a birthday and left feeling very let down. The food was only mediocre (Texas Road House Grill down the road cooks just as good a steak for much, much less.). The waitress was very imformative and chatty, but for that price we were hoping for a ""wow"" factor and didn't get it. Cons: food mediocre more

So, So 2/28/2010

I must first say the food was delicious, prepared to perfection. We had the cook prepare all the meals. A bit pricey, but very good. Pros: Great Food, Well Prepared Cons: Loud Music, Smokey, Have had better service more

Yum! Nice (special) evening out. 1/19/2010

We've been to Trapper's a number of times and have had great meals and experiences with each visit. Pros: Atmosphere; Delicious Food; Pleasant Staff Cons: Odd location more

Great place for a special occasion 9/29/2009

We have been here twice. Each time I ordered the scallops from the ""romancing the stone"" menu, but I had them cook them in the kitchen and they were perfect! Best texture ever and cooked to perfection. The Iceberg wedge is great also, they even split it for us in the kitchen. Pros: Best Scallops Ever Cons: cook it for me, please more

Not impressed 9/18/2009

This definitely is not Mortons, Brooks or The Palm. Not even close. Pros: Location, friendly waitstaff Cons: Slow service, overpriced meals, cheap atmosphere more

Great restaurant 4/20/2009

I love Trapper's. I've been there now 5 times (including once with several people from my company from out of town) and I have never been disappointed. Pros: Best Steak Anywhere in Denver Cons: Not for small children more

Had Better at Outback 1/5/2009

I don't mind spending my hard earned money for fine dining, but I didn't think this place was worth the price. I didn't leave there saying ""Wow!"" It was just average, very average. The ambiance was nice and our waiter was very attentive, I just didn't think the food was all that great. I know I would not return to this restaurant. I'd rather give my money to Bonefish Grill, that place left me saying Wow! Pros: Ambiance and service was very nice Cons: Too expensive for the quality of food. more

WOW!!! What a find. 10/13/2008

My girlfriend and I had been hearing about Trappers for a long time and finally decided to try it out. I never knew cooking on a stone would be so much fun. Our server was very professional and made our visit enjoyable. He recommended the ""romancing the stone"" special and was very detailed on how to prepare it and made sure we were having a good time, too bad we can't remember his name. The Filet and Ahi Tuna combination is amazing!!! Our server told his manager that it was our first time visiting Trappers. The manager Logan stopped by and thanked us personally for our patronage. What a great place. I can't believe that a restaurant like this is in Parker. I highly recommend it and will definitely be coming back. By the way, if you have time stop in the bar for an after dinner drink, it is a very fun and lively atmosphere. Pros: Good food and service, nice alternative to downtown. Cons: Bar crowd can be a little loud while dining in the restaurant. more

Never Eaten There ! So Ignore the Stars ! 8/24/2008

While I have never personally eaten at Trapper's Chop House, I have been following the Tom Martino story about the alleged events that occurred there. I can't comment on the truthfulness of his allegations (posted on his Troubleshooter website), but I can comment on my experience with the Troubleshooter antics. more

One of a kind steak house 8/9/2008

Trappers Chop House is one of the best places in Colorado, what sets this a part from anywhere else is the Manager and the staff. If you have been to Trappers you would know what I am talking about. This whole story with Logan at Trappers has gone too far. Logan is what makes the place (that is why the MARTINO""S choose this place), there are a lot of women that go to Trappers just to see Logan and the bartenders. Does that sound like a place where women are being sexually harassed? I don?t think so. Logan makes women feel good about themselves in a sensitive non aggressive way and that is what happened to Holly Martino, she felt good and Tom Martino couldn't handle it. It is said what people will do in order to make them feel better or bigger. Tom has now used his talk show for personal reasons and not about the consumers and the real issues going on in Colorado. Enough is enough........ People need to stand up for their side of the story and take Tom Martino down and out of Colorado. Pros: Managment, service, food, music Cons: Had to wait a few minutes to get a table do to it being very busy. more

Greatest place around! 8/7/2008

WOW! From the comment made (2 below this one) I have nothing to say but this. They said....""take a good looking woman to Trappers and....."" Well, well, well, if you have seen what the women (that Tom Martino was referencing to) looked like, you will realise that they were far from good looking, so I guess you'll have no problem. The manager LOGAN that they also referenced, has a beautiful wife and children and would never do anything to jeopordise what he has. Unfortunately in life, you can not always choose what is said about you, no matter how false or ridiculous it may be. Do not be fooled, this restaurant (AND ITS NEW OWNERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT) is beyond exceptional. You will feel welcomed like family and leave satisfied and in great spirits. Awesome staff, great food, beautiful ambiance- a real ""great night out"". Don't ever let a disgruntled little man with ulterior motives take away from a fantastic experience right there in Parker. Keep it going Trappers Chophouse, you're still our number 1! Oh, and we love the ""steak on the stone""....awesome! Pros: The staff and the food! Cons: Wished we lived closer more

An all around great place! 8/4/2008

Trapper's has been and will remain my favorite hot spot for great food and entertainment. Everyone I take there leaves raving about the food, staff and the atmosphere. Pros: Food, Staff, Atmosphere more

Good food bad manager 8/1/2008

Take a good looking woman in here and she is likely to be groped, grabbed on the butt - Breast Fondled, or Made passes to by manager LOGAN Pros: Great Place Cons: Bad Bad Managment more

best steakhouse i have been in 5/17/2008

i just moved to parker and i have been to many steak houses across the country as i my job moves me. but i find this the best. the staff are all great and the manager, i think his name is logan is funny and very professional. the food id great and not at a bad price. it is above the holiday inn on the 4th floor and you feel like you are part of the family. after eating we decided to stay at the hotel as our house was not ready till the following day. the guy at the front desk was warm and inviting he also made us feel like this was our home away from home. i remember his name as it is the same as our son (robert) it was late at night and we thought because he was so nice that he had interest in the hotel and he said no he just moved here himself from california but he has only been here 2 weeks but he loves the area and the hotel. Pros: staff, atmosphere, parking, food more

Best Steak house in Colorado 11/12/2007

A group of us went to Trappers Chop House Last Saturday night and I have to say ""What a fun place to go and hang out with your friends/ or spouse"" We actually eat at the bar and the bartenders are wonderful they do know how to make you have a good time. The food was to dye for and the romancing the stone is the hottest thing I have seen in Colorado (that's something you would see in Vegas). The menu is pretty diverse and well worth the $$. It seems that the only thing they are missing is advertising I had no idea about this place until someone had told me. keep up the good work and please start advertising!!! Pros: Menu, staff and ambience Cons: The drive, would like it closer to my house more

Greatest time in town! 11/12/2007

WOW! I just ate at Trappers Chophouse this past Saturday night and simply had one of the most enjoyable evenings I've had in Denver, let alone Parker!!! New ownership, new management, new menu, new entertainment- its a whole new place since the last time I visited. We had a fantastic meal, the place was full yet the wait time was very reasonable. After dinner we sat at the bar and enjoyed the live entertainment till almost midnight. Its intense what the change of ownership and management can do for a place! After speaking with the manager (what a great guy, from Australia!) he says they will be opening up a 2000 sq/ft walk out patio by May 08 which will include a beer garden, outdoor seating and live bands all summer long all four floors up on top of the Holiday Inn. If you've been there, you'd understand me saying that this will be some of the most beautiful 180 degree views of the rocky mountains as the sun sets each night ! I cant wait to come back, recommend it to all... Pros: Food, entertainment, service and atmosphere! Cons: It's in Parker and not closer to me! more

Trappers Chop House A Step above Road House 11/3/2007

Great independent Steak House..Rare for Parker, Colorado in the land of Franchise Food! Problem is Parker is a ""in Bed by 9"" burb spot. Anyway...I would say that the Food, Steak and Seafood cooked on a stone is unique and excellent...maybe a bit pricey and the staff seems to tun over some, due to smaller crowds. But I love the place. I have been there a dozen times and consider it as a plus for Parker. I would not want to lose it. Great Bar and great views. As far as finding it...if you can get there the first time, second trips are a snap ;>) It just may be ahead of its time for Parker...which is more of a family Resterant Town...Road fill (house) steakhouse is packed to the gills. But if you are looking for more upscale-quiet and no peanut shells...consider Trappers Pros: Unique concept of cooking your meal on a heated lava stone Cons: pricey more
