I needed an oil change, but I also wanted to have my car checked out before I go out of town for the weekend. By asking them to check everything out, I easily opened the door for them to up sell me on new parts or engine flushes. But the mechanic said everything looked great and that all I needed was an oil change. Boy, was I relieved. And if you are a single person who has to wait on their car, like me, they did it quick. I took my car to Transmission King last week because my automatic transmission was staying in first gear. I called in the morning and the one of the guy who answered the phone told me to bring it right in. He drove my car and was able to get it into 2nd and 3rd gear, he was so honest and into his job, NO UP-SELLING...and that is so rare in this type of industry. He recommended an inspection, new fluid, and a bottle of transmission lube, it took about an hour and then I was back on the road. Excellent! Thank you so much! more

I have nothing but good things to say about Transmission King. I dropped my car off for service and they quoted me that it would take about 3 days and it turns out that they were able to get it back to me the next day. They also have a clean work area and a friendly staff. more

I am not sure why these people are bashing Transmission king. Maybe they have the wrong shop ? I have had only the absolute BEST service there!! I have now taken 2 of my vehicles in for service and have not had one single issue with them or any of the work they performed. All the staff was polite and courteous and totally professional at all times! more

Everyone here, especially the gentleman with the van, I'm so sorry to hear all of this. I run a Transmission King shop in Austin Texas. This is not now we do business. I""M both ashamed and disappointed to hear any negative reviews. At my shop i have all my customers phone numbers, and i make sure they know when things are being done with their vehicles. When the transmission comes out, what the problem is, when it's going back in, what else i might find wrong with the vehicle, and when it's ready. I know this review is for some place in Georgia, but it still shares the same company name. And i hope anyone who reads this, and might happen to be in Texas, will give my shop a chance to show that business should be done the right way, not the quick way. I don't give unrealistic expectations of a $500 rebuild, or tell you your car will be back tomorrow. I'm in fact brutally honest. All of our jobs range from $1200-$2400. I personally work on all the vehicles, and inspect for fluid leaks, how it shifts, ""funny noises"". And if there is any question of our abilities, the last vehicle i completed was a 2006 Audi TT Quattro, turbo, all wheel drive vehicle. So most light trucks and cars are a walk in the park. I am a single mom and have only one mode of transportation that would not drive or go into reverse. Tony found the problem and gave me the price of labor, then later gave me the price of parts. They repaired my car timely and I had my car back the next day. They also gave me and my kids a ride back to our house. They repaired my vehicle and I haven't had any problems with it since the repairs. They are great and professional! Pros: Great Customer Service & Price more

I had a terrible experience with them. i gave them 1800 for rebuilt transmission then for it to break down and be totally out of a car with a baby. they dont stand behind there warranty. and they TRY TO AVOID you. when you take it back to get the issue fixed. wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. terrible customer service.rude they take you for your money. then the owner called my home phone to say that he was taking me to court for a sign that was placed outside of there business that was slander which i did not put out. Looks like I am not the only angry customer.After I said i was taking him to court. Cons: Will take your money more

I called transmission king in loganville,ga. and told them my van transmission was slipping in 3rd gear and I was told by the owner Chuck to bring the van there and they would check it out for free and call me with the problem and price to fix it. This was on 12/21/09. We drove the van to transmission king and left it on 12/21/09. I was notified by phone from the meachanic and was told the transmission clutches were bad and it would be $489.00 plus the price of the new clutches which would be a tatal of around $700.00. I told them thank you and to go ahead and fix it. Today (12/22/09) I got a call from the mechanic and he told me that he had bad news for me and that my transmission was totally shot and it would be $1.500.00 to repair. I told them I couldn't afford it and was then told it would still be $489.00 for them to put the transmission back in un-repaired for me to pick up the van. We drove this van there with only third gear slipping but was told the van would not drive when we picked it up. They said I would have to have it towed. I talked to the owner Chuck and told him that I would pay the $489.00 for them doing nothing but I wanted it to drive out just like it drove in and he cursed me over the phone using the ""F"" word and was very rude. This company called me with a price and the next day almost tripled the price and now I have to pay $489.00 to get my van back that now has to be towed. This is very bad business especially here at Christmas. I guess someone there at transmission king needed Christmas money and didn't mind taking it from someone that now can't afford Christmas. On 12/23/09, I called Chuck and told him it would be after Xmas before I could pick my van up and he said he couldn't wait that long. His meachanic Tony called me and asked if I was picking up my van and I told him I would just see them in court and he got nasty and stated that I would surly lose and lose my van too. He hung up and then called back saying the transmission was in the back of my van and I could pick it up for $400.00 cash that day instead of the $489.00 he wanted that morning. We drove this van there with only 3rd gear slipping and now they want me to pay them to have it towed away with the transmission laying in the back. These guys are really something. Transmission King also has other complaints against them so beware. I hope no one will ever trust Chuck and transmission king. I was totally ripped off.
