Best

Had a hot rock massage with Nancy over the weekend and WOW!!!!! I walked in with tight muscles and leg cramps from running earlier that morning and walked out like a cooked noodle...

Worst

i average about 1 massage every 4-6 weeks, and i decided to try this place after getting a spafinder certificate as a gift. good pressure, but the the therapist didn't really know...

Below Average Mani and Pedi 5/11/2008

The spa atomosphere was beautifully decorated. The nail tech was a high school student with one month experience--why do spas do that?. I suppose if you have never had a manicure or pedicure before you might think it was average. This nail tech barely touched my cuticles, missed several spots with the polish and did not know how to massage your feet. The pedicure was so lame---when it came to scrub my heals she went so lightly that it tickled. This was one of the worst manicure and pedicures I have ever experienced. When you receive a great pedicure you feel as if you have had a one-hour massage. Not the case in this situation. Would not recommend this place for manicures or pedicures. Cons: Staff are not experienced more

Most thorough facial 5/1/2008

It was the BEST facial ever! Leah never tried to push facial products. She helped me with skincare questions, and gave me samples of products to try. The facial itself was relaxing and I loved the arm, neck and shoulder massage. I will return as often as I can! Pros: Great service Cons: None!!! more

Fabulous 4/12/2008

I go to Leah for a facial once a season (I'm a teacher, so I treat myself during the school vacations)... it is SO worth it. Leah does an outstanding job - never rushes - gives you some pointers but has NEVER pushed a product on me. The minute I walk into Tranquility, it's like walking into a whole other world... and I never feel awkward. Thanks! I'll be back for April vacation. more

(Almost) Painless underam wax 3/28/2008

I decided to test out the underarm wax as an option for a summer bride who loves to do the YMCA. The scene from 40-year old virgin was what I was expecting - I was SO nervous before going I was shakey. Leah was fabulous! She chatted like we were old friends hanging out on the couch despite the fact that I was topless and disgustingly hairy. When it came to waxing, she didn't try to surprise me and she didn't focus too much - she let me take a breath in while talking, then RIP!...and presssss. The technique literally made it (almost) painless. I bragged of my bravado to my friends like it was no big deal (....thanks to Leah). I'm totally going back. Pros: super easy parking, I got a goody bag for being a first-time customer more

Facial and eyebrow wax--definitely coming back! 3/25/2008

I took advantage of their $10 eyebrow wax with the purchase of a facial (regular price is $18). This place has a lot of advantages: * Convenient parking lot across the street (behind the CVS), as well as some on street parking. * The 57 bus from Kenmore to Watertown Square will drop you off nearby as well. * Really pleasant atmosphere, very clean and well-designed, but cozy, with soft white walls and quiet music * They keep the place warm even on a cold, rainy March morning, which is great--there's nothing worse than stripping down for a massage and freezing. Staff is friendly over the phone and in person--didn't give me the hard sell, either. * Prices are low to average for Boston. (One might expect them a little lower, since it's Watertown, not Newbury St., but the overall experience was good enough that I'm not arguing much.) Lyndyn did my facial and wax; she was friendly and made it a great overall experience--my eyebrows especially came out wonderfully. I'm definitely coming back! Pros: love the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff Cons: prices could be a *little* lower, but still great overall! more

Nice Massage 3/23/2008

This was just my second professional massage, but it was much better than the one I had at a much more expensive place in Newton Centre. I got the relaxation package with Donna (1 hr massage, 1/2 hr reflexology). It was great. I only waited a short time in the lobby, and everyone was friendly. Just a warning: There is plenty of parking in the lot behind CVS, but it's all meters. Many of the meters have a 2 hr limit, so pay attention if you're going in for a spa package that will take longer than that. Pros: Staff, price Cons: Parking meters more

A wonderful place to go... 3/16/2008

I'm so happy that I have found some place to go for all my beauty treatments. I had a massage with Jen, mani-pedi with Diane, mini facial and bikini with Leah. All the services were done on time. My last place left me waiting at least 15 min. The place is beautiful inside. Pros: Clean and on time with the appointments Cons: none more

AMAZING facial! - No pressure to buy products! 3/12/2008

I've got really problematic skin - so Leah spent over and hour working on my skin and I could just feel the difference when I left there. Furthermore, this was the first facial I've ever gotten where they didn't try to push products on me. Leah gave me a bag filled with free samples to last me for weeks and didn't try to rope me into buying a thing. It was wonderful and I'm scheduled to go back next month! Definitely go here for wonderful customer service, excellent skin care and respectful people!! more

Love the atmosphere! 3/11/2008

I had a mani/pedi with callus refining treatment today at Tranquility. It was great! Diane was very nice but didn't force too much small talk (a bonus when you're trying to relax!) The price was very reasonable for the caliber of service (I was there almost 2 hours!) and the products used are high quality- OPI polish and a nice orange sugar scrub during the manicure. I will definitely go back for manis and pedis and to try facials and waxing. What a great find, it's all about feeling comfortable in your spa of choice! Too bad I'm moving out of state in a couple months, I'd take Tranquility with me if I could. more

Great Price and Great service 3/10/2008

Tried spa because my high priced spa was all booked up and the citysearch reviews were great. Went to spa on my Birthday and loved every minute of my massage and facial. I could not believe how great the services were at almost half the price of my other spa. I have had the best facial here than any place I have gone to on Newbury St. The staff is friendly and location is clean and comfortable. Pros: Price and Service Cons: Hours. Short hours due to location. more

Great skin care! 2/16/2008

I must say that I stumbled across Tranquility Day Spa by accident. Tucked away on Spring Street in Watertown Square, it is hard to miss if you are just passing by. But, it's a treasure! I had been looking for a good spa for a while - somewhere that took skin care seriously, wasn't over-priced, clean and had good customer service. This spa met every criteria. Leah gave me a great facial. I LOVE the fact that they use Dermologica, one of the few spas that do. I also liked my manicure and pedicure. I was able to seriously relax during it. The spa's space is very charming and warm. This is a must try. Pros: Great Facial, Good Ambience, Nice staff, No hard sales pitch more

Best Brazilian ? Quick and (Relatively) Painless! 2/5/2008

I came in recently for a Brazilian wax, and thankfully I did! Anyone that?s had a Brazilian knows it can be an uncomfortable event ? and Tranquility Day Spa made it a pretty pleasant experience. The atmosphere is really nice. I though the service was quick, about 20-25 mins, the wax and the waxer are great and it was as painless as possible. I will be back. Definitely worth checking out! more

Great experience! 1/20/2008

Tranquility is a great day spa.. the massage therapy was great and the masseuse was very friendly. My only complaint was that the receptionist was a bit unfriendly. more

A man's opinion 11/3/2007

I had a back wax and a massage. It was my first wax and I admit I was apprehensive, but I figured if a woman can tolerate it then so could I. Leah did a fantastic job. It stung a little bit, but not bad at all. My girlfriend loves it! On another visit I had a massage with Jennifer. Best massage I?ve ever had. She gets right into the knots and works them out like no one has. As a side note, this place strikes a nice balance between feminine and masculine? I highly recommend it. Pros: The staff really makes everyone feel very welcome and comfortable more

Professional service. Accomodating and flexible. Wonderful setting. Dermalogica! 10/11/2007

One of the few spas carrying Dermalogica, Tranquility is every bit as good as its name with a wonderfully professional, serene and relaxing setting. Leah is a great aesthetician who is very attuned to the needs of the client and makes sure that one is fully satisfied in the experience as well as the service. This is my spa of choice. A blissful experience every woman deserves! Pros: A straight bus from Harvard square and easy to find. more

Great Place for Great Skin 10/8/2007

This is one of the few spas I have found since moving to Boston that carries Dermalogica. The staff is very knowledgeable, but doesn't push product on you. My skin has been great since I began getting facials and they do a fantastic job on my eyebrows. They have a wax that is much gentler than anywhere else I have ever been. I would definately reccomend to a friend. Pros: Excellent Service and Products more

Most relaxing facial in elegant surroundings! 10/3/2007

I went into Tranquility Day Spa to have a facial. First I was asked about my previous experiences and what type of skin I had. Next I was given a tour of this delightful facility. Then I was shown into a lovely room where I reclined on a very comfortable spa bed. What followed was about 45 minutes of absolute luxury. Every treatment was done slowly with care while I listened to calming music. When I was left alone with the lights dimmed, I almost fell asleep. This happened to be a very difficult time in my life. I literaly could feel the stress leaving my body. I have had facials elswhere but this was the best experience I have ever had. Pros: Ambience, friendly service and the best facial I have ever had. Cons: Parking in municipal lot more

Best Skin Care 10/3/2007

The best I can say is finally after 28 years I have clear skin! The brow waxing last at least a month and the service is amazing. During my first facial, Leah my skin care specialist, recommended a new product for me to try. I figured I had tried everything else, why not! The product was reasonably priced and the most effective product I have ever used! At Tranquility, they really take their time with you and really care about making a difference for you! Amazing! Pros: Amazing and friendly staff more

Typical Spa 10/2/2007

This place was nice. Leah, the owner, is fantastic. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. Donna, the massage therapist was great, but I would probably try a sweedish massage from her next time. Diane, the nail tech, was SO incredibly slow and my mani and pedi didnt come out great. I would probably go back for a massage and facial but certainly not nails. Pros: Quiet, relaxing, parking, prompt service Cons: not great nails more

The Best Spa around! 10/2/2007

I have been going to Tranquility Day Spa for almost 2 years now, and it is just a wonderful experience. The prices are wonderful, the employees are great, and the atmosphere just relaxs you. I would recommend this spa to anyone and everyone. Pros: Ambience,Parking,Service,Prices Cons: None more
