Editorial review from Citysearch 9/24/2012

I had the displeasure of interviewing for a job with this place and witnessed totally un-orhtodox procedures such as examination tables not being sanitized between pets, contaminated fecal samples, and a horriffic painful injection given to a poor dog from stupid and inexperienced ""pet care assistants"" I was never afforded an answer or return phonecall from all my efforts to secure employment there, even after my purchasing operating room scrubs required for the interview. I still have horrors from seeing the hurt they did to that poor dog. He will forever be mortified of going into that place from the pain they inflicted. VERY CRULE FILTHY!!!! more

Puppy Parents Beware ! Rip Off Vets R Here! 11/30/2011

11/28/11 My 5 month old puppy and I were shown into a clinical exam room that had not been cleaned after the prior room use. I asked for a fecal test and an exam, and provided the attendant with my puppy's vaccine records. The attendant took a fecal sample to test. Then the vet entered and suggested that we immediately begin to give my puppy a deworming medication. He also stated that he did not trust the vaccine records I provided and suggested that the vaccines were probably not stored properly or administered properly and therefore we should start all over again with the vaccines. I asked him what the test results of the fecal exam showed and he then advised that the results of the fecal exam showed up NEGATIVE FOR PARASITES. \r \r In my opinion, this vet was inexperienced and all about getting more things done to my puppy that did not need to be done. Is he on commission or is he a vet trained to bring in the money? Surely, he is not acting in the best interests of the puppy. Would you take your baby to a doctor who says that he didn't trust the baby shots your young child was administered, and therefore you are asked to do them all over again??\r \r I vote this as a half star.\r Gretta B.\r Savannah GA more

Business Hospital/ excellent care 11/6/2011

I have read all the reviews on this pet hospital and am not sure if they if visited the same one on Abercorn street as we did. We had wonderful care for over six year. Dr. Trammel and her team although busy are always great with our dog Max and my wifes cats. The health care plan that we signed up for with each of our pets has taken the worry out of scheduling exams and such.. I have recommended Banfeild to coworkers at Gulfstream that have pleased as well. If I had any concern it would be how busy they are but that is more because of my schedule of after 5pm appointments only. more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS VET 9/24/2009

BANFIELD RIPPED US OFF ON THEIR ""PLANS"" FOR WHICH CHARGE YOU MONTHLY AND TRAUMATIZE ANIMALS WITH UNNECESSARY TESTS. THEIR VETS POKED AND PRODDED MY GENTLE SHEPHERD FOR HOURS AND COULDN'T GET AN IV IN TO PUT HIM UNDER FOR A SIMPLE TEETH CLEANING. SO THEY SENT HIM HOME FULL OF NEEDLE MARKS WITHOUT EVEN GETTING THE CLEANING (WHICH WE PAID FOR ALREADY IN HIS PLAN)....THEN THEY STILL TRIED TO COLLECT FROM US WHEN WE STOPPED TAKING OUR PETS THERE. Cons: AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE, NEGLIGENT VETS, WAY TOO EXPENSIVE more

Do not waste your money here! 7/21/2009

i have 2 wonderful healthy dogs that have went to Banfield since birth. Yes it was a bit expensive but they offered a ""Wellness Plan"", for a certain fee a month. This would include all office visits, and all shots covered under the plan. Well in the event you have a emergency, this ""plan"" offers NO help whatsoever. My youngest dog developed a severe infection of Mastitis. Took her in and had the WORST customer service, horrible attitudes, and were charged for unnecessary tests. It was recommended to euthanize my little one!!!! She spent the night in the emergency vet, and then we took her to a NEW doctor, who gave her a fighting chance. Guess what.... she has made a HUGE comeback, and is doing extremely well. Moral of the story, they are only good for yearly shots here. Pros: Good Location Cons: Horrible Service, and overpriced more
