Great Beer, Good Food 10/8/2005

I went shopping during the annual "Festival of the Little Hills" in St. Charles. We decided to stop for lunch at the Trailhead Brewery. It was a great stop for lunch and a cold beer (its hot outside). The wait for our food was a little long but it wasn't too bad. I had a club sandwich with crab bisque soup...very tasty. My sister had the chicken bar-b-que sandwich which she said was a little dry. The beer was awesome. I recommend the rasberry beer. The prices were very reasonable (around $8 for sandwiches). The favorite dish at our table was the sweet potatoe with maple sauce. Overall a very pleasant dining experience. more

So so 7/12/2005

Our friends thought this place was awesome and had to take us there. But we didn't think it was anything special. It does have the big brewing things but service and food weren't anything to brag about. Pros: alcohol always a plus Cons: no parking, service not great more

Very Very slow 4/15/2005

The food here is ok. However, the service is non-existant. They are in no hurry to help anyone. Do not go here unless you have a few hours to spare. Pros: Nice Varitey of Beer Cons: Service is horrible more

Great food, great beer 10/26/2002

Gotta try the crab & artichoke dip appetizer. The hot beef sandwich is also amazing for those who like spicy food. Pros: great beer more

Try It Once 9/11/2002

This is an interesting place to go at least once. You can see the tanks and other equipment they use the brew their own beer from the dining areas. The menus also give a brief overview of the process. The food is average, although there are some interesting choice. Young kids we've taken don't like the food. Husband says beer is very good. Pros: Unique Atmosphere, Beer Cons: Average Food, Not greatest service more

Okay if you live in the area 7/25/2002

Trailhead is a good place to stop in when you are looking for awesome onion rings and a good beer, but don't go out of your way to get there! Service is generally slow, seating ranges from good to horrible. (I once sat at the top of the staircase where I felt in the way-- and I have also been seated in a comfy booth in the bar.) Overall I think the lunch menu is a better bet than the dinner menu- but your experience at Trailhead will just depend on how much your server cares about doing their job well and who is cooking in the kitchen. more
