This is a show place for out of town visitors, or after-work revelry, it's an entertainment center, but not a place to go to enjoy a good steak. I'd measure the steaks more on q...

Round-Up at the Trail Dust 1/12/2003

You want a real tender slab of beef, surroundings that make you happy that you're there, someplace that you can eat in peace while the kids are occupied with something other than making your meal something you're craving to end? Trail Dust can help you with this. From Chicken to a Strip that'll make your mouth water, they've got it all. more

This is not some where you are able to sit and talk over your meal. It is loud and crowded. Kids running everywhere. Pros: Good parking, inexpensive Cons: Loud, poor service more

If you are from out of town, this is the place to come for some western atmosphere and food if your budget doesn't fit The Fort. It's fantastic for kids and just really fun for a large group. Don't miss it. more

After eating at the Westminster location, I couldnt believe that this place is rated so well. The service was very poor, we waited at the door for 45 minutes to find the restaraunt nearly empty when we were seated. The server was too busy taking care of a group of college boys to bring a clean glass of water. The med rare steak I ordered was med/well at best, it looked dry like it sat for 15 minutes before the waitress finally brought it out. I will never reccomend this establishment! Pros: Location to Mall, Good atsmosphere, Reasonable prices Cons: Poor service, Inconsistant food, Bad Beans more

The Steaks are Just Ok at Best. 12/24/2002

How this place ever made it in the top 10 is a mystery to me. Although it does have its good points, a great steak isn't one of them. Granted, you might get lucky and get a fairly good steak now and then. But overall, you are more likely to get a cheap cut of meat that is grissly and not worth the price of admission. If you just want to have a cowboy atmosphere that is reminescent of a mess hall, then this is your place. Hey, the slipper slide can be fun for the tots. Pros: parking, friendly Cons: noisy, smoky more

When we went the hostess was to busy with her friend. The waitress was rude and the food took forever. Drinks alone took 15 min. Also they say they are kid friendly. We ask for his food first and it came out half cold. And on top of that steaks were cooked wrong. Then to top it off the waitress asked us to make sure the floor stayed clean from our 2 yr old because she had just swept. Bad food bad service what more is there to say. Pros: parking Cons: expensive, crowded, loud more

Best Steak Ever 12/18/2002

I went to a Traildust in Golden, CO . It had to be the best steak I have ever had. I bought the 24oz steak (the medium one, they also had a 52oz) which was cooked to perfection. I was actually able to eat the whole thing considering usually a 12oz fills me right up and I was not hungry or full afterwards. This was 10 years ago and I have not found a better steak since. Pros: Food Cons: 2000 miles away more

If you are looking for a traditional sit down dinner with a casual ambiance this is likely not the place for you. If you are looking for a place to eat dinner, with a moderate cost, and you want to remember the more traditional roots of Denver this might be the place for you. While you won't get dressed up for the meal (please no ties allowed) you can get a meal steak that tastes as though you are in some of the finer resteraunts. The steaks are superbly marinated with a good selection of additional items if a steak doesn't appeal to you. The ambience takes you back to the more traditional days in the area of CO formal (jeans and anything else). more

I can't stand Trail Dust. I hate the way yopu have to buy the baked potato separately from the steak, half the time the waiters don't remind you of htat fact. Who can have a steak with out a baked potato. I do like the atmosphere though more

If wanting fast seating call ahead 15 minutes. Regaurdless it is well worth the wait. Great eats, and a little something of everyone, and for all ages. If your kids are sick of chicken strips and burgers, take them for a nice steak, and some corn on the cobb for a great price, and a change from the reg. Pros: Live band, Slide 4 kids, Bar Cons: tables alittle close more

Best Steak House 12/3/2002

this restaurant does not deserve to be on the same page with Morton's, the Chop House and Ruth Chris's. Their big thing is to cut off a man's tie if he comes in with one. I gave up going there because the meat was such poor quality. If you like a place that has a long waiting time, is very loud and smoky and you like spending alot of money for mediocre food, this is place for you. Pros: good service Cons: poor quality, very loud, expensive more

The food is very good here, the service is promt and delightful. This is another inexpensive place to eat. The surroundings take you away from the city and surround you with a more modern look. The smell of meat cooking is always a pleasent smell. They accommendate large groups when you call ahead. Overall a very pleasent place to dine out at. Pros: Good food, Service Cons: Long wait for seating, Pricey drinks more

Been there many times. No better steak anywhere, escpecially for the price. Excellent seafood and chicken, but the best ribs in Denver! The service is like that of a five star restaurant. The atmosphere is plain country fun. more

My husband had very fond childhood memories of Traildust, so we returned for dinner this summer. The server had laryngitis and could barely speak over the mediocre live act. The food was slow to come out and our steaks were prepared badly. The meat quality was so poor we didn't send it back, though. We went for the peach cobbler but I don't recall if we even had it. The meal was expensive for what we got and we regretted going back and spoiling the childhood memories. Pros: fun ambience Cons: loud & crowded, awful steaks more

While I haven't been there in a while as I have moved from Denver, every time I go back I try to stop by. The atmosphere is wonderful even to those who aren't too keen on country music. The servers are always friendly and even when there is a line out the door, the wait isn't too long. You definately get what you pay for there :) Pros: Inexpensive, Friendly, Courtious Cons: Too popluar at times more

Finally! A steakhouse that has great food, good service, nice atmosphere and reasonable prices. Great for families too! The prime rib is spiced to perfection! No better steaks to be had! Please get rid of the beans and bread. Bring back the Texas Toast I had heard so much about! more
