Trail Creek Trade Co. was founded in October 2000, by Greg Grimes and Tim Wheeler to cater to the needs of shooters of all levels of experience, but especially those with a keen appreciation for the glorious heritage of American firearms, reaching back to the 19th century and the earlier decades of the 20th century. Greg Grimes has extensive experience with historic firearms, having been associated with the former St. Louis Hawken Shop, which crafted high-quality reproductions of those famous rifles under his direct supervision. He was also for many years the manager of St. Louis's Mid City Guns and was involved in that shop's nationally-known Faintich Auctions, which were renowned as a major marketplace for fine arms of all eras. Tim Wheeler has a broad background as an active participant in the shooting sports and as a seasoned professional in firearms retailing. He is highly skilled at matching each shooter's requirements with just the right gun for that individual, and at backing up the sale with instruction and customer service. Trail Creek strives to maintain a significant stock of antique and vintage arms, as well as their modern reproductions - guns like the Hawken, Spencer and Ballard rifles, the Colt Single Action Army and the Winchester lever-actions, as well as vintage British, Continental and American Shotguns. Vintage Sporting Rifles by American, English & Continental makers. Another specialty is collectible 20th Century handguns including earlier Colt, Smith & Wesson, and Ruger revolvers, as well as Luger, Mauser, Colt, Savage, High Standard and other semiautomatics. More recent out-of-production models in many of these same lines are also frequently on hand. Current guns are equally well-represented: we're as able to supply you with that Glock or SIG you've been looking for, or the Browning shotgun you need for your next duck hunt, as we are to equip you with the engraved Colt single action that you covet.
