Trader Joe's Co

First off, let me state that the only reason why Trader Joe's didn't score a five in my book is that I am totally grossed out by their unattended samples. Being a total germ-phobe, I was disgusted to watch person after person dig their hands into an open jar of chocolate covered berries for sampling. It was also disgusting to watch how they dug into the whole tin and took way too much to eat. I think they need an employee to oversee the samples... I like this store, but it cannot serve as your primary supermarket simply because it doesn't have enough selection. Items often stay out of stock for a while, and sometimes what's available isn't good. I'm not sure if they take coupons, but I don't think anything they sell would have coupons anyway. Checkout is a breeze and the staff are nice though. Sadly, prices are almost as bad as at Whole Foods. (but it's still quite okay when you count every item carefully... love their snack foods.) more

This is a nice grocery store. It is a true specialty items store. Some of the prices are a bit high, but the quality is good. Not somewhere I'd shop all the time because it is very small and gets crowded fast. more

At Trader Joes, I found not only great crystallized ginger, but the most delicious ginger slices, chocolate covered ginger, and ginger snaps. This store is a wonderful find for vegetarians. They carry several kinds of tofu, lots of meatless dishes, wonderful produce, whole grain breads, and several kinds of nut butters. Finally, someone realizes bigger is not always better. A trader Joes shopping experience doesn't overwhelm a person with isles and isles of choices in toothpaste, soap, shampoo, dogfood, condiments, etc. etc. etc.... more

Trader Joe's is fun, fun, fun! It is not huge, and does not overwhelm the shopper with freezing temperatures, fluorescent lighting, and continuous announcements. You never stand in line waiting for customers to sort through piles of coupons. It is a really enjoyable grocery shopping experience. I have lost my taste lately for huge supermarkets and turned to Trader Joe's to reignite my passion for grocery shopping, as well as my passion for food. They offer lots of ethnic specialties, fresh produce, flowers, product demonstrations and samples, as well as a large array of vegetarian and health food choices. Everything is reasonably priced and attractively presented. All of the employees seem happy and friendly... all decked out in Hawaiian shirts. more
