I always just assumed that Trader Joe's was always crazy and hard to maneuver, but come to think of it, I never get that homicidal feeling in the El Cerrito or Alameda Trader Joe'ses. On the other hand, the Emeryville location is the only one I've seen have sushi-grade tuna, and it's at the same better-than-most prices as all their other food. And it's much closer to my house. And they have a great floral area, never mind that that space could probably have been used to fix the design problem. The sad thing is that they redesigned the whole store a few years ago! Nevertheless, as I am used to shopping at crowded Berkeley Bowl, I can usually handle the (admittedly worse) traffic in here. Especially with their awesome chocolate selection. Oh, and best of all, this branch invented little color-coded signs that tell you what is organic, vegetarian, et cetera - so handily awesome! more

The prices are good for organic , healthy food but Despite me liking Trader Joes to shop at I would not recommend this location. It has a big assortment of food stuff like all Trader Joes but its located in a poorly designed shopping area. Its directly off the Freeway and its a nightmare. No parking and long lines at the checkout counter. There are other Trader Joes nearby so you better off going a few miles in any direction to avoid the stress of shopping here.
