This place is an eyesore for a Toys'R'Us. The selection is pretty good, but the service is mediocre at best, it's dirty, and it feels really overcrowded. The good news is that since it is such a mess, you tend to not to feel bad when the kids mess with toys, ride the riding toys down the aisles, or anything else you usually have to chase them down and stop them from doing. The service is so bad that no one bugs you when they do it either (I still recommend you stop them, though :)). more

Warehouse ambience 9/26/2005

I'd like to know who designs the Toys-R-Us stores. It's obviously someone who has no idea about what appeals to children . . . or adults, for that matter. The Hickory Hollow Toys-R-Us is just plain unattractive. It always looks like it's about to go out of business. The entryway is dingy and poorly lit. The last time I went, only the service desk was checking people out. All of the checkout counters were empty. It's too bad that the store is so unappealing, because their product selection is pretty good. I hope that the corporate folks decides to invest some money in improving the Hickory Hollow store's appearance; I think their customer traffic might improve. It certainly couldn't hurt. more
