Toucan Tan

Toucan Tan is the best tanning salon i've ever been to. I have been tanning for about 7 years and nothing has ever even come close to topping the experience i have at toucan tan. With 3 locations you'd think that managing a clean salon with friendly employees would be hard work, but that is obviously of great importance to the owners. There has never been a time when i've been sent to a partially cleaned room. There are never smudges on the beds, walls or floors. Trash is never in the individual trash cans in each room. Toucan Tan takes pride in knowing how to treat customers. The girls that work there are all smiles when you walk through the door, never failing to ask about my day. The hours are extremely reasonable, with being open on saturday and sunday. with the news about the increased risk of skin cancer, i had questions; the employees were able to tell me exactly what UV rays did what and how i can prevent skin cancer and still be an active tanner. Anyone who has a problem with Toucan Tan has something wrong with them. Pros: friendly employees, great beds, clean facility more

This place is great! It was very clean and had plenty of beds. The staff was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the products and tanning. I have not went to a tanning bed since I was in high school which was about 11 years ago. So I was very white and they were able to tell me how long I should tan for each time so I would not get burned. I brought the 1 month unlimited package and went everyday before my vacation. I had 3 weeks to get a great tan and I did what the staff said and never got burned, so in 3 weeks I had a dark tan. All my friends and family noticed and they all told me it looked very natural. I did research around town before I went with Toucan Tan. I called all the tanning salons to get the best rate, the most beds and the best hours. I've been tanning at toucan tan for a couple of years because its location was very convenient. The location is no longer good enough. I've had many problems with the rude employees. They are snobby and unhelpful. They would prefer to hold a conversation amongst themselves then help a customer. I hear them bad talk other customers after they leave. The owner isn't any better. You cannot leave a message for her, nor will she call you. You must call her when she is at the salon, which isn't very frequent. I've had issues with them closing early and opening late. I've always bought a monthly package, but now they only have 1 bed I like and I've had to wait 45 mins to use it. Sure, the employees will allow me to use a lower quality bed, but my package is for the higher quality bed and won?t offer any kind of compensation. Their hours aren?t great and they close for every single little holiday and will not give makeup days. Since I started looking at other salons in the area, Toucan Tan is not competitive in price or bed quality, plus THE EMPLOYEES ARE TERRIBLE!!!! My husband and I have tanned at Toucan Tan for the past 2 years and Love it. From the first day we started tanning the ladies made us feel welcome and appreciated. They took the time to explain the different beds, packages and lotions that were available. The salon is extremely clean and sanitary. We always look forward to tanning because the atmosphere is so relaxing and soothing. When we get out of toucans beds you can tell you have tanned. Our tans last longer and we don't have to tan everyday like other salons. We would not tan anywhere else other than Toucan Tan. Yes, we highly recommend Toucan Tan over any other tanning salon. My visit to Toucan Tan was great! It was my first time doing a spray tan, and the women who worked there gave me step by step instructions on how to do the spray tan, she was very helpful. My first thought when i walked in the place was how clean it was. Not only was the service and sanatation great, but the tan quality was perfect, it left no streaks, and looked great. Out of all tanning salons i've been to, i think this one tops my list! more

I have been tanning at Toucan Tan for about 4 months and have never had a bad experience. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The rooms are always clean and the beds are super nice!! There are other tanning salons closer to my house, but after going to Toucan, I refuse to tan anywhere else. This is THE place to tan!!!!! Pros: Three levels of beds, not over priced more

Toucan Tan is the best tanning salon ive ever been too!.. I think that the review before mine is crazy. They obvisouly have no experince with good customer service. Everytime that I've been there all of the girls there have helped me with how long i should tan and have always been so nice to me and so knowledeable about thier products and services which I believe are very fair. I think that everyone should tan there because it is such a good clean environment with friendly staff and I love the candy that I get with the tan everytime! I have on multiple occasions been in Toucan Tan, and everyone that works there is very rude and very unhelpful. I walk in and the girls who look to be in highschool are laughing and talking among themselves and not paying attention to anyone including customers. Besides the lack of customer service, their prices are also outrageous! They are higher than any other tanning salon I have been to, and you see absolutely no results when you leave. I have been an avid tanner for over 9 years and have never been in a salon that is as customer friendly as Toucan Tan. The staff, in my experience, has been very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I did my research before choosing Toucan Tan and truly believe that have they best tanning services in the Charlotte area. The prior post is the first negative opinion that I have ever heard in regard to Toucan Tan and their service. The lady there is very rude and argued with me on several occasions, closing it down 20 minutes early, saying that i didn't have time to tan, then when she said, ""fine, tan however long you want"". i was nice enough to go for only 5 minutes, skipping the 3 minute warm-up to put on lotion, and came out at five minutes before closing, and she pointed out that it was 2 mintues after closing on her clock. When i told her she was being very rude to the customer, she said she wasn't and then said that she had to be somewhere by the closing time. not my problem considering i had called 30 minutes beforehand and asked for the closing time. other than the lack of customer service, it was just an average tanning salon.
