Bad service 8/31/2010

Worst staff and customer service ever. I joined the gym because I liked the idea of all women and the kids play place looked safe. I also paid to be a spa member. If you never have issues, the place on the surface seems to be friendly. But let me list my issues.\r \r 1) Kids play never had space for 1 year old if you call one day ahead. They don't tell you that when you sign up. Only after do they say call two days ahead. And even then it seems they don't like babies. I was told to bring my stroller so he could sit in there for an hour.\r \r 2)Facialists and masseuses are hit or miss. Find one you like and stick with her. I've gone thru a few not so good ones.\r \r 3)One facialist sold me a sunscreen. I got home and opened it and when I started reading the bottle, there was no SPF statement. When I tried to return it, three people and then a manager made me uncomfortable as if SPF can be SPF without saying so. The manager would not return my money even though I would never have bought it had I known it was not SPF. The register is in a dark place so of course I did not read the no money-back policy. I will never buy anything at the spa again.\r \r 4)I bought a 24 session personal training package. As if that wasn't enough, the salesperson really put on the pressure to buy more. Geez. I just spent 1200, how greedy are you? Anyway, I wrote the check and had to keep calling them for the next two days to get a trainer to even call me. Seriously, when I spend that much, I expect same day priority. They did not care.\r \r 5)First trainer was great but she got fired and I know because 3 different staff members told me. Very unprofessional. Second was great. Third was awful. I asked for a credit on this session because she was so obviously inexperienced. The manager, Lisa, on the phone said ok but then never credited my account.\r \r 6)The fourth trainer was five minutes late and never apologized or explained her tardiness. On top of that she accused the fired trainer of stealing my file even though I told her the second trainer was able to find it. And she did not make up the lost five minutes she caused by being late.\r \r 7) Lastly, I went in for my monthly massage and something happened in the computer where someone in Northridge used my monthly service. They asked me questions as if I knew what was going on and had to get the manager. Anyways after they finally let me have my massage, the masseuse did not make up the ten minutes lost on their computer screw up. \r \r \r I'm going to cancel my month to month membership after my last training session. I hope they don't give me issues about that. more

Fraud & Forgery committed by this company 4/22/2010

FRAUD and FORGERY committed by this company, PLEASE read. On 1/15/2010 I signed up for a month to month commitment of $48 per month at the Brea location. On 4/6/2010 I called to cancel my account. The woman said it wouldn't be a problem, come in and fill out a form. On 4/7/2010 my husband went in to cancel the account as it was his credit card on the account. They told him that he could not cancel the account because we were locked into a 12 month agreement. My husband told them absolutely not, we never agreed to that, and they said they would contact ""corporate"" regarding the matter. On 4/8/2010 we received a letter in the mail from ""corporate"" stating it could not be canceled and they attached a copy of the contract which was nothing like what we had signed. We had kept our customer copy of the contract which is a yellow sheet as well as the credit card receipt still stapled to it. On our contract, it clearly states that it is a month to month commitment and we can cancel at any time. My husband, myself, and a witness went in on 4/8/2010 to confront Total Woman Gym & Day Spa with our contract. The operations manager was polite and took a copy of our contract and compared it with theirs. She noted that there were obvious discrepancies with the contract. The customer copy was the top paper which is yellow and their company keeps the other two which were on the bottom. It's clear that someone has gone back and added as well as marked off areas in which we did not agree to after the fact. I also asked about an area where there are initials required, I questioned whether the person who signed me up was supposed to initial there. She stated that no, those were supposed to be my initials which they are not. The operations manager said she would talk to ""corporate"" about this matter and get back to both my husband and myself. On 4/9/2010 I called the main number on Total Woman Gym and Day Spa in the hopes that the number was the main office or ""corporate"". Instead, it was the Placentia, CA location but I explained what was happening and they were trying to be helpful. I spoke to a woman there and thoroughly read through my entire contract as well as the fraudulent copy. She agreed that something definitely was not right and that it does sound like information was added after the fact. She also said that I needed to speak to the manager at Brea Total Woman Gym & Day Spa, not an operations manager. I called the Brea location and spoke to an Annett which is the manager and who was very rude. Her explanation is that our copy wasn't completely filled out and that she trusts the integrity of her employees, in other words saying that no one added to the contract after the fact. She also stated 3 other excuses as to what had happened within the few minutes of speaking with her. Despite the manager saying this, it does not explain why someone marked off the 12 month agreement, signed it, dated it, marked off all boxes pertaining to the 12 month agreement, added a start and end date, etc. The manager proceeded to say that they will cancel my account, have spoke to ""corporate"" and everything is handled after I told her I had contacted the police. Thank goodness we kept our copy. This is against the law and it's called fraud and forgery. I'm sure they've done it before and will do it again in the name of a commission. I hope people will find this review and think twice or at least keep all records. This company is out for your money, not for your health. I was fooled by it's upscale interior and pleasant employees. They have tried to sweep this under their rug and I question if a ""corporate"" even exists. They illegally signed my initials and made a fraudulent copy of the contract in order to lock me into an agreement I never made so I would have to keep paying them, complete asinine. I'd like them to tell my children why they lied and tried to steal $400 from our family. PLEASE beware! more

Best place for woman to get fit & relax 12/3/2008

I have been a member a Spectrums, and Equinox and this gym by far gives you more for your buck. Located at the Promande mall's east side it has plenty of parking & great security personnel around watching for your safety. The are also available to take you to your car if you ever need them to. The gym machines are kept clean and maintained. It may look a whole lot smaller then most gyms in regards to the amount of equipment, however when you take away all the really heavy weights and extreme bodybuilding equipment that most men use , then you have a smaller gym room.\r All the right equipment is there, free weights, pullys, smith machine( for squats) etc. The room does not have natural sunlight which is a major draw back but with all the other amenities it is fine.\r The locker rooms are beautiful, the dry sauna is nice and hot. The steam room works awsome but can use some updating. The Jaquzzi tub is super hot . There is an attatched Spa treatment center there too. Men are not allowed to use the gym or the Spa . They also offer a kids room for ages 1-13.\r Just remember that the Steam,Sauna and Jaquzzi rooms close I HOUR PRIOR TO CLOSING. \r Heres the membership breakdown fees:\r With a small enrollment fee of less than $100 you have 3 choices: $44 a month for basic gym use.\r $88 a month for gym use AND I facial or swedish massage a month included. You save $36 for these services a month.\r Then there is the $126 monthly due which includes $44 basic dues, 1 spa service, access to their ""Executive room"" which has its own vanity, hairdryer, private lockers and room AND TOWLES. They do not provide towel service at this gym.\r Note also that for $38 extra a month you can add the ""executive room' to your basic dues.\r All the women that work and work out there are sweet, nice and cool. No hang ups here. Come in sweats ,no make up, no problem. All the women here come in all different sizes. Which is nice to see. Have fun !\r REMEMBER: BRING OWN LOCK AND TOWELS ! Pros: Plenty parking,no men, great locker rooms, spa etc, affordable Cons: no towel service,no natural sunlight, steam, sauna & jaquzzi close 1 hour before closing. more
