Torta Della's Pizza

UPDATE 7/2007: Torta Dellas has shut down and no longer exists. Torta Dellas is a small pizza joint in the heart of New Town St. Charles area. Unfortunately it is more of a commodity for the local residents there than the greater area (I think they only deliver to New Town residents), but if you're out driving on 370 and are passing through Elm, it's worth a stop. Their cheeseburger pizza is absolutely the best. It's not perfection by any means - they operate with very odd and limited hours often forcing you to call up another pizza place instead if it's past 8PM (or 6PM on Sundays). If you're planning on going there to eat, make sure it's a nice day as you can only eat outdoors (they operate out of a small kiosk-ish building). On nice summer days, the flies can become very annoying (not Torta Della's fault, the insect are simply attracted to the food smells coming out of their place and the barbecue place next door). Overall, I like Torta Dellas a lot and glad to have them here in the community. Just wish they were open during a slightly wider area of time during the 6-9PM dinner hours. By far the best pizza that I have had in a long time and a delightful change of pace from all the other main stream pizza places. While my grandchildren loved the pizza, I most enjoyed the wonderful enviroment for them to run and play outside. We look forward to going back on Friday nights for "Movie and a Pizza" once movie nights start up. The owners were very friendly and enjoyed talking to everyone that walked in regardless if they were a regular, stopping by to pick up a menu or a first timer like myself. They both told me about their pizza and a movie tradition and I am looking forward to being apart of that tradition with my own grandchildren come spring time. If you haven't tried Torta Dellas yet, you much give them a try, you will be wonderfully suprised by the traditional east coast style pizza with delicious fresh toppings, lots of mozzarella cheese, and a wonderful garlic butter crust around the outside of the pizza. You have to go and get their buffalo chicken pizza. It's absolutely delicious! They also have great service and are very friendly! more
