After a few management changes, the current owners are striving to bring continued consistency to their pizza product. No other pizzaria has been in business longer than Torre's. 26 years of pizza making and they are still my favorite pizza joint. Try looking at a pepperoni pizza when it first comes to your table or home. Loads of pepperoni, like a pepperoni with every bite! Give this place another chance if you have been away! Or give it a chance if you are a newcomer to the area! Worth the drive from JOCO! Pros: best taste, loads of ingredients, quaint atmosphere Cons: far from my home more

Better than the Chain Pizzas 10/31/2002

Pizza's are nothing special just ordinary decent pizza and far better than the national chain restaurants like Pizza Hut or Papa Johns. Service can be very fast or very slow depending on when you go. Very busy during lunch and supper hours especially on Fridays and Saturdays. Ambience is fair. Basically there is nothing that stands out as good enough to rave about, and nothing is poor enough to scream about. Pros: plenty of cheeses, an ok blended sauce, nothing stands out Cons: nothing stands out more

Editorial
  • The Scene
This pizza joint is tucked into an attractive row of Civil War-era shops in the heart of trendy Westport. The collegiate atmosphere attracts a steady and diverse crowd, especially on weekend nights. Foundry moldings adorn the brick walls and contrast the graffiti-etched booths that line the dining room.

    The Food
Three crust styles (regular, thick and thin) and numerous toppings (feta cheese and sliced almonds, to name a couple) populate the pie-heavy menu. Hefty chunks of crabmeat and an abundance of baby shrimp deck the seafood pizza. Ricotta fills the plump, al dente ravioli, and the rich, red meat-sauce starts off slightly sweet but finishes with a spicy aftertaste. The stuffed pizza is thin, but the savory, crunchy crust, Italian sausage and blanket of sauce make it a flavorful treat.
