Torreon Mexican Restaurant

I just have to tell all of you how marvelous this place is. I just took my friends here last week, we had a wonderful meal and they also have some unique deserts! more

Just returned from Torreon. We have been frequenting this establishment for quite a few years. As we were sitting eating chips and waiting for out food, a cockroach scurried across out table. I informed the waitress what had happened and showed her my napkin with which i killed the cockroach. (we should have left at this point) We went ahead and ate our food. When leaving I spoke with Brice who is behind the bar. I got a ""sorry it's bound to happen"". \r I did speak a few choice words to him and let him know we would not be back. He responded ""ok"". I knew when i walked up to talk to him that he would not care!! more

Mixed reviews, just completed my first and maybe last visit to Torreon. Nice ambiance, but a ""booth"" is really a table with half of its seats against the wall. Server was very good. Chips were excellent and warm, the salsa was good. I ordered a margarita, ""Our fish bowl margarita (house blend) is good"" Yuk! It tasted odd, if not weird. And, with an after burn on the tongue. I'll have a regular one, please."" A ""fish bowl"" of ice with a little liquid in it arrived. It tasted like a regular margarita. Ok. I ordered the chicken fajita. My companion, two beef enchiladas, ""no onions"". The enchiladas were described to me as ""basic"". When asked, ""good, bad or indifferent""? She replied ""indifferent"". The fajita tasted good, but was more or less, middle of the road as far as fajitas go. The chicken, although not completely ""dry"", was not moist either. The big shock came when the check arrived. Food prices were reasonable, but they charged $18.00 for 2 margaritas! ""You had top shelf"". I never requested ""top shelf"", and there was absolutely nothing special about the two glasses loaded with ice and very little fluid, until some ice melted, that I received. They made no effort to reconsider. So, as I told the hostess, food was ok, but I'll not be back for $9 margaritas. more

What a downer! We have been going to Torreon's for months - food was good and service great - so we invited friends to join us. We were having a fairly good time when our waitress came up to us with our checks! and said it was time for us to give up our table so other guest could use it! We were still drinking and trying to enjoy the music. I went to the owner to complain but it was obvious she cared more about moving people through like cattle than developing long term customers! What a lousy attitude - will never give them a dime of my money again! Pros: null Cons: null more

This USED to be a great restaurant, like the previous posts indicate, but it no longer is. The "fishbowl margaritas" are now kitten bowl margaritas, and the price went UP ($6.50) as the glass size went DOWN. There are NO refills on soft drinks, which are $2.25/EACH, including each refill. Conveniently, this is not listed on the menu (the waitress neglected to let us know this as well) as no drink prices are listed. Beer is only sold by the bottle, and is $3.75/bottle, and they have no drink specials ever. more

My family and I have been frequenting this establishment for several years, and I'm so happy I am now able to enjoy the fabulous Fish Bowl Margarita with the rest of my family because it is awesome!
