Torigo

i lived in this neighborhood for years and never realized this rstaurant even existed, so I gave it a try on Tuesday night. Bad idea!!! I usually go to the one next block where sushi is always good ,but stupid me wanted to try something different so I cheated on my Isono. When they brought out the sushi, it reeked of fishy smell!!! sushi even tasted fishy so after two bites I stopped eating. Maybe it was one of those days for this restaurant, but I am never going there again!!! more

I've never seen a restaurant quite like Torigo. The sushi is marvelous, but all the kitchen dishes are excellent as well. It's very obvious that the chefs take care to make each meal perfect. The It's All Mine Roll just melts in your mouth, and each bite of the Beef Teriyaki Garlic will have your mouth craving for the next piece. Torigo's is a place with great atmosphere an even better place for friends and/or family and all the food is for a reasonable price. The staff is passionate, knowledgeable and most of all friendly. The menu is equipped with average dishes Japanese restaurant carry but then there are dishes that are strictly Torigo's and the menu contains food for every taste palate. Torigo uses the best quality to create awesome food and deserts. The deserts are classic but contain a modern twist such as the Tempura Cheesecake that not only stands out and complements the Tempura ice cream. All deserts are amazing and it is a great way to finish a filling meal. \r \r Overall Torigo is a great restaurant with amazing atmosphere, service, and food. Anything on the menu is worthwhile and with its close setting you can bring friends, a date, or go alone and have a wonderful time. \r \r Go. \r It is worth your while. more

I love Torigo?s teriyai, kushiyaki, and sushi. You can tell that the chefs put lots of care and skills into each dish. Since they have many varieties, anyone would enjoy eating at Torigo, including those people who are put off by raw fish. Those who really love Japanese won?t be disappointed either.\r \r My favorite dishes include ?Fried Tofu Fire? and ?Spicy vegetable kushiyaki.? I love their original spicy sauces. Some of their roll sushi?s are very innovative. ?Angry Tuna? is amazing! If you like spicy food you would like this. ?Una-Q?, ?Queen of Fish Roll?, and ?It?s all mine? (baked sushi!) are my favorite, too. Of course, they have traditional sushi too and they are all excellent.\r \r Staff is very friendly and the dining room has homey atmosphere. I've worked at Torigo for two months now, and I have to honestly say it's one of the most amazing experiences I've had in my life.\r \r The food is very delicious. I'd never had any sushi I've ever enjoyed. I've tried the supermarket brands, and some random restaurants, but its never been any good at all. That is until the day I tried it at Torigo. The fish was so fresh and flavorful, and the sushi rice had a slight hint of sweetness which made it stand out compared to the others I've tried.\r Their grilled dishes are also superb, the teriyaki sauce they make themselves tastes better than any store brand. Almost everything at the restaurant they make themselves, thus assuring you a very delicious, and healthier dining experience. \r Then finally come the desserts. You can order ice cream flavors such as green tea, or red bean, or you can always stick with classic chocolate, or vanilla. Then they have tempura fried ice cream, and cheesecake, which have a very original taste compared to other desserts. Finally there's the ceremonial tea set, which consists of unfiltered green tea, and some tiny sweets to go along with it. The tea set has the most classic feel to it, and I recommend it to anyone who comes by.\r \r So stop by one day, and try a real taste of Japan.
