Torches On The Hudson

I had reservations for 3pm for Thanksgivivng Dinner 2 years ago. Then your staff called me saying that 3pm was not going to work and I could come in at noon. Who has Thanksgiving Dinner @ noon? I agrreed anyway since I had no choice at the last minute. Upon our arrival we were told that there had been a error due to scheduling and we could not be served. Thank you. We had Hamburgers that year. Then I said to myself "OK" things happen. I took a date to your facilities only to wait 45 min. for a waiter to take our order. Finally 1hr later we got our dinner. Nowf for some stupid reason I returned today at the bar to have a few drinks with some business clients. After 35 min. sitting at the bar waiting for service we left and went down the street where we were served in 3min. Please be aware that there were not a lot of people at your bar. Bottom line You guys really suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not that I am better than anyone else but I have no problem dropping $300.00---$500.00 a night in a bar with a $200.00 tip. I gave your 3 chances . Not Good. Not Good at all. more

You come to Torches for the atmosphere and the view (both inside and out!). The area's more upscale crowd does happy hour and weekend nights here, and during the summer it is quite the scene. The fish tank is unbelievable -- I've heard it is one of the largest private-owned tanks in the country. I don't come to the Torches for the food. I often order bar snacks, along with an awesome cocktail. This is the place to see and be seen. more

You can't mention Torches on the Hudson without mentioning it's huge tropical aquarium. The thirty foot long tank divides the bar (popular among local singles looking to mix) with the quieter dining area. They have a seasonal raw bar selection, and recently added a tiki bar to their outdoor seating, all with a glorious view of the river. Eating selection is wide, tending toward gourmet. The place to be on the newly trendy Newburgh waterfront. more

Torches and all of Front Street has recently been renovated and is now a beautiful place to walk around during the day or evening or go for a drink or a meal. The view is great and the waitresses are hot. For a special treat, go early on July 4th and you can watch a great fireworks show right on the Hudson River, well worth it. more
