the first good news is I was reffered to the shop. If I drove by it I probably would not have stopped as it's not a big fancy building. Then I met the owner and in just a few minutes he had a qoute for me. My truck is an 86 so it just doesn't make sense to buy a $5000 paint job. Macco and 1 day paint qouted me 2000-2200 with no bodywork and just masking off the windows etc. Tops Auto Body basically did a $4000 paint job for 2k. They removed the entire truck bed, the Windshield moldings, lights, bumpers, painted door jams. They also cut out and welded on some patches where the rust was bad. Also they had about 50 little holes to weld as I requested the mirrors, molding and F250 emblems removed. Also the bed had holes in it where a camper was attached they fixed that also. The owner threw in some little things like painted the grill and wiper arms. The shop knows what looks good, helped us pick the color, etc. Even though I paid for one-shot they did a 2 step paint so it can be color sanded later. Everyone loves the truck now. I will be bringing my mustang in eventually and my other truck for some minor repairs. I also like they stuck to the price, they didnt call and ask for more money when they discovered some additional damage under the bumpers. They just handled it.
