Top Fairfax Movers

We booked with TOp Fairfax Movers because they seemed like a less expensive local option over chain places. Mistake. A company called Mega Movers from Maryland showed up (40min early) with 3 people who barely spoke English. Seems Top Fairfax Movers is really a broker and not a mover. These guys worked hard and fast which was great. But they tried to scam us by saying they charged in 1hr increments (not 15 like we were told on the phone) and were hassling me to sign the forms before they finished. They wanted me to pay for 8:30 to 11:30 even though it was only 10:30. I refused and they ultimately finished 15 minutes later. The main RUssian guy was seemingly friendly yet always begging for tips and standing around to talk. His English wasnt very good either and it was difficult to communicate. After having to call the company several times (more Russians) they gave us a "discount" so we only paid for the 2hrs of moving an 1 hour of travel time. Of course, it was a scam because why should we pay for 1hr travel time from Baltimore when we ordered a moving company that we thought was 3 miles down the road. Dont book these people. They're Russian crooks. more

Very professional and efficient service. Exceeded our expectations. I have had bad expierences with movers before showing up late and having bad attitudes. This company was amazing. They showed up on time and packed up my entire bedroom for no extra charge. They were safe and responsible when they moved my furniture, I could tell they knew what they were doing and had been doing it for a while. I would recommend Top Fairfax Movers to anyone! more

I compared a few companies before I chose Top Fairfax Movers. Then I narrowed it down to two companies with similar, very reasonable rates. The "other" company lost my business because of the curt telephone representative. Top Fairfax Movers was professional and FRIENDLY at EVERY interaction, both on the telephone and in person. Love that. Workers showed up a wee bit late, but called to let us know, which makes it OK in my book. They wore the company shirts, introduced themselves, shook hands, and smiled. Perfect. I hate doing business with people who seem indifferent. They worked very hard, non-stop, for three hours. Polite the whole time. Did everything as they were asked. I could not say one bad thing. This was a phenomenal experience, the whole way through. Great guys, professional, friendly, and fast as heck. Pre-Move In soliciting bids for my move, Top Fairfax Movers was the only company who routinely answered my phonecall - I always got a live person, who was very courteous, whereas the other companies I was getting bids from rarely if ever picked up on the first call, and we engaged in constant email volleys. While I understand these are small companies and are constantly on the road, I got increasingly anxious as the date approached and I had barely any contact to speak of, so having someone who I knew would be there put me at ease. Moving Day They showed up not with 3 guys, as we had agreed, but with 4, and only charged me an extra 20 bucks for the job. Sweet! The guys moved my entire apartment into a large truck in less than an hour, we met at my new place and they unpacked in less than an hour. With standard travel time included the whole move was just about where I had expected price wise, and it was smooth as glass. more

This past weekend was the fourth time I have used Top Fairfax Movers in the past eight years and they are still as good as ever. I will continue to recommend them to everyone I know as the most reliable and respectful moving company. I have never had an "accident" with them and that is partly because of the great care they take in moving the furniture (no banged up walls or floors) but really because they cover everything with blankets, cardboard, or plastic. My stuff could have been shipped safely to China wrapped that way. They charge extra for these things but it is minimal and very worth it. Hiring this company is money well spent on moving day. more

Situation: I was moving my belongings from a storage unit to a high rise condo. During my move to the storage unit, my belongings were carelessly thrown into the storage unit. Additionally, there were several damaged items as well. The Good: Top Fairfax Movers showed up on time, with four people in tow, and were ready to inspect items and repack them if needed. They carefully inspected items and discussed items that needed repair. They were great and I was so thankful they did it. The Great: When we got to my condo, they went above and beyond to ensure that my table, bed, and other items were put together correctly. I was missing some screws to my dining table and they helped to identify screws that could be used. My mirror was crooked and they straightenend it out. Again, they went above and beyond. more

This is the second time I have moved with Top Fairfax Movers My first move was locally in the metro-DC area and went perfectly. They arrived on time and performed beyond my expectations. I just recently relocated from my apartment in DC out to San Diego and the entire process was just excellent. We had 6 guys and two trucks. The day started on time and the men worked feverishly until the job was completed. We had very heavy furnture pieces being moved including three king size bedroom suites. My furniture was unharmed; no dings or scratches. The guys were incredibly professional and polite. I would certainly request that crew again for future moves. We also had them move our slate pool table. This was such a breeze. They came the day before and broke the table down, boxing all pieces, and returned the next day to put the table back together in the the new house. more

They showed up at 7:55 when they were scheduled to arrive between 8 and 8:30. They introduced themselves, explained the contract, and started moving right away. They were quick, polite, and didn't break anything. They knew exactly how to get to my new address (even though it's a little tricky), and started work immediately. When they were done, they asked me to double check the truck to make sure they didn't miss anything, and again explained the contract for the final charges. We were definitely charged a fair price and I'm really pleased. I would absolutely hire these guys again in a heartbeat. more

They called about half an hour to let me know they were on the way and were ready and willing to go the second they got to my storage unit. These guys were sprinting up and down a 3rd floor walk up and it only took them just over an hour to help me finish unloading my storage unit to unloading into my new apartment. So much better and more efficient than the last guys I used, much faster and such a cheaper price! anytime I'm moving in the future I'll be sure to use these guys and will be recommending them to all of my friends! more

was weary about picking I Top Fairfax Movers because their prices were so cheap (and you usually get what you pay for), but their reviews were great so I chose them. The movers turned out to be three of the nicest guys I have ever met. I was concerned because the morning of the move Alex, who is the main contact on the phone, explained that the movers would disassemble my bed but would not put it back together (although I thought they would do both). After the movers were done they generously offered to put my bed back together with no additional charge. I would recommend Top Fairfax Movers to anyone who is moving (whether on a budget or not). They are very professional and an overall nice group of guys. more

I have moved a bunch, and whenever I have used a service *other* than Top Fairfax Movers it has gone poorly. But Top Fairfax Movers has always been great: Come in under estimate, reasonable price, integrity about my stuff, fast, and man, do they work hard. They took my book boxes in two at a time and then jogged back to the truck. I swear by these guys. more
