A true understanding of culture 2/5/2003

From the prior ratings, excuding one, clearly shows the lack of intellect and taste in Ohio. If you are acclimated to elegance and have a palate for only the best, this is the place to be. Such chain restaurants in the Cleveland area lack the culture that is driven at Tonight Tonight Pros: Great food, sublte crowd, good atmosphere more

  • The Scene
Once inside this large nondescript structure amid the hills of North Royalton, you may feel as if you've traveled back to 1987. It's not just the lilting Muzak: there's also an indoor fountain and an abundance of beveled mirrors contributing to the "Me Decade" ambiance. It seems the only reasons Tonight Tonight could be considered "upscale" are its dim lighting and the bow ties on the waiters.

    The Dining
The French onion soup and salads are tasty, especially the raspberry vinaigrette dressing; the bread, which has been known to take up to 25 minutes to arrive, is fresh but not warm. The ample crab cake appetizer should be outstanding for $10; sadly, it lacks any crab taste and is covered in something akin to Shake and Bake. The beef Wellington isn't bad, but could very well be one of 200 served at a wedding reception. For this you can expect to shell out quite a bit of dough that might be better spent somewhere else--unless you've come for the piano entertainment and dancing that accompanies dinner Wednesday through Saturday, or the karaoke (surprise), beginning every Wednesday at 9pm.

    The Crowd
Mellow, middle-aged suburbanites looking to have steak and wine without the kids. There is a dress code, but it would be hard to tell what that entails since jeans are acceptable attire.
