Best Breakfast in Town 11/2/2011

I loved this place! Some of my friends were hatin' on it but I was like aw heck no! That place is amazin'. I loved the crepes, the homemade jam was authentic and original. I can't wait to go back even though no one wants to. I would recommend this to everyone! While some people have reported sour milk and other food service faults, I would say that they are all hating on a good, family owned establishment! My favorite part though were the waitresses who were so kind and loving and catered to my every need! They even have a spectacular group space with an inviting atmosphere and a catering assortment of smuckers jam and pho butter. Can't wait to go back! more

Spoiled Milk, Sour Pancakes 10/10/2010

Wanted to do something special for my 5 year old son. We (Dad and Son) went early this morning 7am. We sat at the Bar. Wanted some old fashion pancakes but got spoiled milk and sour pancakes. We came home and both of us feel sick now. They attempted to correct the food problem with new milk and new pancakes but it was too little too late. I paid in full and left the waitress a couple bucks and did not haggle with anyone there. I will never go back. more

Don't Do It!!!!! 10/22/2009

Surly staff, sub-par food, way too much God with your breakfast, dirty, small, cramped,expensive....need I go on?\r \r Oh yeah, super rude!\r \r We had a take out order, got home and found they left out 1/2 of the order and burned the rest. When I called and spoke to the manager I was told I could come back and they would take care of us ""next time"". Told him that was probably an unlikely scenario and could he just credit my credit card.\r \r Long Pause.\r \r Nope, we can't do that. Can't, or simply do not have the brain capacity to perform such a simple transaction? The flunkies at IHOP have no problem with it.\r \r My advice, keep driving. You do better at Noah's with a bagel sandwich than waiting in the cramped, dank hovel that is Tom's. Pros: Nada Cons: Everything more

Stay home, eat a pop tart, you will be better off. 5/7/2009

Dear God it was horrible.... I made the mistake of taking some friends to this place without trying it first and I will never hear the end of it now. The server was rude and unhelpful. She rushed us through ordering and then ignored us after she dropped the food off. We ordered the ""Golden"" waffles expecting to get toasted delicious goodness, instead she dropped the plates on our table with a clatter holding, flat, oblong, brittle, dry crackers with waffle print on them. I say to you with all seriousness... Eggo waffles were 10 times better. I smothered mine in ALL of the butter i was given and half of the syrup jar and it was still awful. My friend ordered one with strawberries and while the berries were fresh the waffle ruined his day. No Joke. Needless to say he did not finish. The bacon i had was dry, and old? seemingly to be the leftovers from someone else's breakfast from an hour before and my eggs were rubbery and cold to the touch. On top of it all it was overpriced. nine dollars for a waffle cracker and strawberries...? really? We will NEVER, EVER, eat here again and the sooner this place has a grease fire and burns to the ground the better. Maybe the food will taste better then. Do not eat here if you value your money or health. Please. I beg you. Pros: Water was cold Cons: Awful service, awful food, waffles that make you cry more

Omg, so good! 3/3/2009

I went here the morn of my birthday and it was fantastic. I had some sort of western omelete with ranchera sauce all over it and it was heavenly. For my b-day they hooked me and my twin bro up with a pyramid stack of pancakes with fruit topping and a candle. We each got different fruit too! I would go again for sure. more

When i moved here, this was touted as one of the local best of places. Its better than denny's, i'll give you that, but we're really not setting the bar very high there are we.\r \r God is everywhere at this place, and thats nice, but must i dine with him? It made my rude waitress all the more 'ironic' i guess - wwjd? - appeartly be very bitter and condescending. The service was slow, and out of order. I was seated, 5 minutes later some jocks were seated. They were served before i got my menu. They had their check before i had my food, in fact, before i had my coffee. I had to go to the counter and ask for my bill, though i felt like just walking out. Pros: would love to see the local guys come out on top Cons: pricy, poor quality, rude service, long waits, bookstore waiting area more

I am having such an excellent day! 8/11/2007

Today is my birthday, My fiancee Scott took me to Alexa's Tinting this morning to tint my car. We wanted breakfast too. We were referred to Tom's by the sales man, said it was the #1 Beaverton Hot Spot for Breakfast. I took a good chance, coming from Portland where we have an over population of breakfast cafes, I wanted something diferant. \r \r What a wonderful place, very kind and courteous servers, and the food I will not forget! This will be my new Pancake House. \r \r If you are in Beaverton or Portland area, and you have not been here, i must recomend it HIGHLY!\r \r Thanks to all the folks who made this the best birthday yet!\r \r Kristen Meyers Pros: Good food, environment, service, and lastly desert!!!!!!!! Cons: They are located in Beaverton more

Poor service and dirty 2/4/2007

Waitress didn't come back to see if everything was okay: it wasn't; toast was burnt, hashbrowns were raw inside, omlette was cold. Cashier didn't seem to care when I told him. more

eh.. 1/6/2007

There isn't anything special about this place. The lines are long, the people are rude and some of them don't even speak english. Tom's has gone way downhill since Tom sold it. Take the time and drive downtown. Much better breakfast and people there. more

You have to keep your eyes wide open, so you don't miss this place. There is too much business sign clutter, in the area. I think the owner here, is controlled by his cook staff, and not the other way around. The biscuits and gravy, needs help. A canned pork gravy, is used here. The pancakes, are so-so. The omelets, are very good, at a good price. If I owned this place, I would close up, and clean up. Add all new help, with few exceptions. I would improve the menu, and some of the food. I don't like to sound negative, but I'm disappointed, when I see unfulfilled potential. Pros: Very good Omelets, some very good help, Other food, average Cons: Not enough parking more

Decent break spot 11/21/2002

They have everything you expect on a breakfast menu. Try the Marion Berry pancakes for something good and different. The country gravy wasn't very good, so I assume the chicken fried steak is the same. Corned Beef Hash tasted tin can like. Prices and service are reasonable, but the wait can be quite long. Pros: crepes more

I miss Tom 6/6/2002

Since Tom sold this marvelous restaurant, some of the food has simply not been the same. Most dissapointing are the pancakes and wafles. Now they are chewy and taste of baking powder. Wish the new owners would use Tom's original recipes. Pros: Service Cons: Parking more

TOPNOTCH TOM'S TEMPTS YOUR TUMMY!! 6/4/2002

Tom's is a wonderful place for breakfast and lunch! As evidenced by the quite often packed house, it's a popular eatery among locals! The hazelnut pancakes are a must, but the rest of the menu is just as tantalizing. One word of caution: if you're not paying attention, you'll drive right past it!! As the saying goes, ""just follow your nose!"" Enjoy! Pros: Inexpensive, Excellent Food, Friendly Service Cons: Location easy to miss, Weekend am's crowded, Needs more parking! more
