The Tompkins County Public Library is one of the largest and more modern public libraries I have ever seen. They have a nice selection of everything, from books, to magazines, cd's, dvd's and vhs tapes. They have cool electronic self-checkout machines and many computer stations where you can use word processing programs, or surf the internet for an hour (or more if there is no one waiting). It is easy to reserve materials from the computers, and also easy to locate materials within the library. There are lots of interesting programs for children, teens, and adults as well. The only drawback, it seems, is that sometimes it takes a while for reserved materials to come in, and also that you sometimes have to wait a while to use the internet computers.
