Wonderful Family Restaurant 2/18/2011

I beg to differ with the 2 previous reviews. I go to Sushi Tomo all the time and have had nothing but great service and the sushi has always been fresh. The sushi chef is wonderful and friendly. I even had sushi there on his 2nd day of owning Sushi Tomo. He's the one of the reasons I keep coming back. more

Don't Even Think About It 1/8/2010

I posted this same review on yelp. Hopefully, it is still up, since this is an honest review.\r \r First of all, I was encouraged by the yelp reviews to come to this place. Boy, was that a wrong move this time. \r \r So I went on January 5, 2010 for the AYCE sushi and I am extremely disappointed in this sushi place.\r \r For whatever reason, this place was pretty busy yesterday and there was only one waitress for the whole place. I know she did the best she could, but because of the AYCE sushi set up of ordering from the menu, we had to hound her down to get our order in every single time. It almost seemed like we were bothering her or something. \r \r I beg to differ to the other yelpers. THE SUSHI HERE IS NOT FRESH. I ordered a tuna roll and a spicy tuna roll. The tuna roll tasted like it was frozen. The spicy tuna roll did not taste fresh and was way too spicy for my taste. \r \r BTW, the waitress came by and told me I should finish it, when I wanted to place another order in for some more sushi. What kind of AYCE place is this? So, I tried to force myself to eat the spicy tuna roll, but it was just not good. \r \r Furthermore, all of the sushi cut (not the sushi rolls) had a drop of some kind of spicy seasoning on top of it (right in the middle of the sushi cut). I think this is for the customers' taste buds to not really taste the fish quality and make it seem like the fish is fresher than it really is.\r \r How can something basic like the crunchy roll taste and look pretty bad? I had better crunchy rolls at fast food sushi joints than this place. Sorry Tomo Sushi. I usually do not write reviews, but after coming to this place, I felt that it was my duty to warn others of how terrible this place is.\r \r Although, there were some things that were good, like the mussels and miso soup that I had at the beginning, but it was not worth it to pay $24.95 plus tax and tip for that! \r \r BTW, Tomo has a regular menu for non-AYCE customers and a separate menu list for the AYCE customers, but there seemed to be a price difference for the tuna rolls and spicy tuna rolls. Those rolls were cheaper on the regular menu than on the AYCE menu. So if you choose to go to this place still after my review, at least check this out!\r \r I felt like wasted my money on this place. If you intend to visit and eat at this place for AYCE sushi, PLEASE DON'T DO IT. Do yourself a favor and go to your favorite sushi restaurant instead, but not here. Pros: Chief Gave Away Free Sushi Dishes Cons: Sushi and fish here is not fresh more

Like the Denny's of Sushi 6/15/2009

This place has very nice people working it yet I have not been thrilled all three times I have ordered there. I kept hoping it would be better. They have a photo menu which I love yet what they deliver as the roll is not even what the photo shows. My roll was even missing the avocado. Doesn't taste like the best fish either. It is cheap fish. They have an all you can eat but I never eat that much so I order a roll or two. Maybe this place is best for those who want the all you can eat (Grand Slam!) and not concerned about the quality of what they eat. Pros: Open 7 days a week, very nice people Cons: Don't let the pictures fool you more
