I live about 20 miles from Tommy Nails with about 25 or so nail places between my home and the establishment. I previously was a regular there for a few months but then I had a very unpleasant experience with the co-owner. I felt as if I was disrespected by her attitude but also realized I was also very upset at the time of the discussion so I decided to return to the salon to apologize to her the next morning, and try to explain my point of view. I went with my friend and her son. I was going to pay full price to have my nails completed and my friends hands and toes. I always tip no less than 20 percent and always do my best to be as respectful as possible. The day of our disagreement she asked me to pay before the service was done, I did not have change and she was in the middle of doing my nails so I ended up giving her a 25 percent tip even before the services were finished. When I returned to speak to the primary owner he was not there (he was always very kind, generous and very professional) and I began to apologize to her and she immediately cut me off and started talking down to me. I tried three times to explain that we may have had a misunderstanding and she continued to disrespect me and not allow me to speak. She was yelling at me towards the end of it so much that my friends son said to me, ""I don't like the way shes treating us."" So unprofessional. I was disgusted. Me and my friends were regulars, just for me I spent about an average of 95 dollars every 2 weeks (including the tips). I refuse to be treated in such a manor. I now go to a location closer to my home, which is less expensive and does not rush me or speak to me in a disrespectful manor. As I stated, the primary owner is a very professional and wonderful gentleman, it is unfortunate that the behaviors of his subordinates had to have an effect on his business.
