The Tomato Cafe quickly became my favorite dining establishment in the quaint town of Clinton, New Jersey. Clinton, itself, offers a small downtown area with fine shopping and of course, its fabulous historic Mill and Art Museum. The fine Italian cuisine begins with crusty bread served with the most addictive pesto with strong garlic! The salads are fresh with field greens featuring black olives and cubes of provolone cheese. They always have enticing specials one of which is called the Spa Cucina, or dieters special. They feature seafood served in a variety of ways. Even the bar pizza pies are worth mentioning. My personal favorite though not good for those cholesterol-minded is the Tortellini Three P's; this mouth watering dish is cheese tortelli drowned in a creamy parmesan sauce with prosciutto and peas. Outdoor dining. Moderate prices (average entree $12.95).
Pros: Food Variety, Friendly Staff, Convenient Location
Cons: Parking, Tight Seating, Only One Restroom
