NOT FAMILY FUN 7/12/2014

Rules for sake of rules took my 4 and 6 year old here they are too tall for baby area fine. But in other child area adults not allowed to swim so could not be with my kids or get wet despite paying CASH to get in. My kids did not want to go away from play areas so there I sat. Management could care less too many rules signs and extra charges everywhere else avoid this place more

Great for little kids.... never again for the big waterslides! 8/30/2012

We went to Lake Tomahawk Lake Waterpark for my dad bday, 5 adults & 2 kids (aged 4 & 6). We did the swans and lil kid area & that is perfect for them. Then the grandparents stayed with the kids & the adults went to do the waterslides. So we get on line for our first ride at the Apache & there is a small wait and the worker is taking his time loading the rafts. Then after awhile the worker just stops the raft lift from delivering and he walks away, doesnt say a word to the people waiting on line. Then he quickly returns to grab his sneakers, then he heads to the port-a-potty. Ok no big deal, then 5 minutes pass, then 10 minutes pass, then I see him get out of the potty and I scream. "excuse me...what's goin on?" He shouts something back then goes back in the potty slamming the door. Then he gets out of the potty & now I see him smoking a cigarette on the side of the potty. "Hello sorry to interrupt your cigarette break but people are waiting, call someone to replace you or let the people of line know what is goin on" So he comes back smelling like cigarette and the people of line starts exchanging words with him and the worker is just going off, cursing and all. Then he shuts down the ride and tell everyone to get off. So I do so and head to the office the woman there says, "sorry about this, you are the second complaint they got about this worker this season & we will handle it" As we went back to do the other slides (since we paid for the wristband & did not ride anything yet) The worker sees us and starts hollering at us, so we went back to office and asked for our money back since it was very uncomfortable for us getting harrassed while trying to enjoy ourselves. The office said no money back. So there is no way I will go back for slides, but we will go back and just do the kiddie area as it is close to our home and convenient. But shame on you management how you handle your employees. One complaint is shame on the the worker, second complaint of season..now shame on you! all of staff not kidfriendly. more

It's a Lake people 8/23/2012

I haven't been to Tomahawk Lake since I was a kid, and remembered it fondly. I went back this year with my 5 kids and was a little nervous based on some of the reviews I read. I have to say we had the BEST time there! It's located in beautiful, rural Sparta so the ride alone was breath-taking. The price was great as far as I was concerned. The beach-side was a bit crowded with some day-camps taking advantage of the great weather, but I teach my children how to share and they had fun meeting new friends. The water park was awesomely fun. There were barely lines and the staff was friendly. As for the reviewers who complained that it was diry...it's a lake...it's not a chlorinated pool...there are minnows swimming happily and to me that means it's a healthy lake. There were no foul smells or sites. It is a safe place if you are willing to walk with your younger children or set reasonable parameters with your older children. If you want to sit with a margherita in your hand poolside while your kids run around unattended on padded walkways and slide down fiberglass slides gushing with chemically "cleaned" water...then this isn't the place for you. If you want to drink in the beauty of nature while having fun sliding down a ton of water slides, play mini golf as a family, ride a swan paddle boat, and watch your kids beam with happiness...go to Tomahawk Lake. more

never again please dont go 8/19/2012

Only giving it one star cause i cant give it none. This is the worst place on the planet.. the water is so dirty you might get a staph infection. The place is covered in bee's I don't mean a few here and there I mean about 30 just by our table. 2 people at the table next to us got stung. They need to go out of business. Please don't go in that water!!!!!! You might come out with a third arm or eye. Over priced and nasty. Some guy was having chest pain and the first responder didn't even take his blood pressure the ambulance took almost 45 minutes to get there. He probably started having chest pain after he took a good look at what he paid for. Please don't go. more

Stay away from Tomahawk Water Park 7/20/2011

DO NOT be fooled by this "water park"....it is not the place to go if you are looking for a clean safe place to bring the kids! It is overcrowded way beyond capacity ....water stinks of urine and feces....You will pay $12 per person just to park your car 9 mjiles away from where you can see how crowded it really is....oh and then NO REFUNDS...CASH only...guess why, because as soon as you see how bad the place is its too late.....and if you ask for a refund you are treated VERY rudely by the owner who will escort you to the exit with security.....the worse customer service I have ever seen!!! Do not be fooled STAY AWAY!!!!!.... more

Dangerous, Dirty Disaster 8/2/2010

DO NOT SEND YOUR CAT TO THIS lake/Park. The swimming area is not large enough for the amount of people crammed in. There are beautiful areas to the lake, but they are roped off. You will swim in a small area of the 200+ guests warm urine and body fluid. the slides are dangerous at best. On the day we went, we paid $44 for the carload and an extra $30 for bracelets to ride the waterslides. The moment we paid the sky got grey out of no where. I asked the cashier before handing him the CA$H about rain policy. The cashier assured me the slides RARELY close in the rain. With disappointed kids in tow, I hand him the money. In the amount of time it took to get to the first slide, the sky downpoured on us. The slide closed when we got there. ALL THE SLIDES CLOSED and THE LAKE WAS CLEARED OF SWIMMERS. We went right back to the booth we just paid at and the booth was closed up solid. STEEL BARRIER PUT UP. We couldn't even see the cashier. we had to bang on the barrier. The cashier with a stack of cash in his hands sheepishly looked up and told me there were no refunds. He told me to speak to the manager. The manager who was iliterate, rude and sarcastic told me, "I'm not Al Roker, I can't predict the weather. You came to get wet didn't you -- well you're wet -- go have fun." That is sadly, a direct quote out of the mouth of the owner/manager.... Wow.. We waited for upwards of an hour for the weather to clear. As we took shelter under their highest water slide, we looked up to see the UNDERSIDE OF THE WATERSLIDE RUSTING AWAY AND LITERALLY FIXED WITH DUCT TAPE. We left the park and reported the park to NJ Dept. of Consumer Affairs. This park is a nighmare. more

So Fun!!! 12/27/2005

Tomahawk Lake has been around for a long time. With a number of water slides all based around a natural lake, Tomahawk Lake is a great place for family fun. Aside from the slides, they also offer paddle boats, bumper boats, and mini golf. There are a few places where you can grab a bite to eat, or you can bring your own food and eat at the picnic tables. Admission is relatively inexpensive compared to other waterparks, and you get to spend the whole day there. Great place for a day with the family. more
