Absolutely Crave-able!!!! 6/27/2009

I eat here at least once a week if not more! I love the chicken with vegetables, and the lunch time bento box is truly the BEST lunch in town. The habachi style table side show is as good as any I have seen, and the fried rice is great. I feel so lucky this is in my neighborhood! Pros: Great food, nice atmosphere, fast delivery! more

rosieamberger doesn't know what she is talking about. This place has great fried rice, sushi, and is just all around good. The service isn't the greatest ever, but they all have smiles on their face. If it was BYOB, they got their liquor license since. I recommend tokyo teppan to any sushi lover. Try the spicy tempura rolls. Pros: service with a smile , great sushi! more

Great Sushi at the Y 8/2/2005

We recently found this place and are very excited about having a great sushi spot so close to home. The food has always been great, and the service is excellent. However, there is NEVER anyone in there so I wonder if they'll stay in business. They have habachi grill tables too, but we just go for the sushi. The roll selections are limited, but this is the norm for sushi in Austin. Overall a wonderful place for sushi where you probably wouldn't expect it. Pros: Great Food, Great Service, Not Crowded more

Poor service & mediocre food 4/11/2005

My husband and I were very dissapointed by our experience at Tokyo Teppan. Even though it was a very slow night--there were only 3 other tables full at the restaurant--it took at least 20-25 minutes to receive our food. And even then, we received our entrees before the appetizer, which was terrible! I can make better edamame at home! The entrees were not terrible, but the service was! We were ignored, had to ask for water & the check several times before receiving them. Also, it's a BYOB restaurant, which we didn't know. It's helpful to know that before you go there. Pros: Inexpensive Cons: service, food, atmosphere more

Sushi - must have had an off night? 9/15/2004

We went on a tuesday... ordered 2 Edamames and 1 Miso to start. Only 1 Edamame comes out... had to remind them. No bowl or plate for Edamamae Scraps... had to remnd. No drink order taken, had to remind. Forgot the Wasabi and ginger with the sushi, and fish was fresh but average. Overheard 2 other customers not get their orders right either. Maybe they had an low traffic off-night? Will probably go back due to location convenience and give them one more shot, but will drive to Sushi Sake or Uni for greater occasions. Pros: Inexpensive sushi, close for Oakhillians Cons: , not the freshest more

crazy wonderful 2/9/2003

It was a very wonderful experience. I went there with bunch of my friends to my friend's birthday, and we dine at the hibachi table...the show was excellent...it is the best performance that i've seen so far comparing to Benihana...the service was pleasant...we also had some sushi...it was very fresh and new to the taste bud... more
