I'm not sure why the reviews are so bad. I came with a group of 9 and we actually had a great time. As we got seated, our server took our drink order, we weren't sure what to order so they gave us some time to review the menu. we ordered the food, enjoyed our drinks and maybe it took a little time but we were okay because we were having a drink while having a great conversation with friends. more

Too Much Hype! 10/1/2008

Took my parents for a special night and was very disappointed. We asked some questions about the menu and our server couldn't explain the food, should have gone to the Cheesecake Factory next door, he had that lost look on his face. I overheard the next table having the same problems, different server. We tried the appetizer sampler, all fried and very salty. Asked to send the fried potatoes back and the server told me that they are supposed to be salty. Trust me, I love salt, but I couldn't eat it. The tempura was kind of soggy and the sushi rolls had no flavor. We didn't order anything else after that. Not a great evening, maybe we should have taken the server's suggestion and ONLY ordered a cocktail. Manager seemed to be on his cell phone the entire time we were there. SLOW customer service 6/16/2008

I've been to this restaurant twice and to be honest I'm not dying to go back anytime soon. The food is alright, but the service is so dang slow. I think they're still training new staff, but regardless, we had to wait forever for the check to arrive. If you're in the Arcadia mall area & wanting some Japanese food, you're better off going to Old Town Pasadena & going to Wokcano. Poor Service! 5/30/2008

Too bad, I will never and never go to Tokyo Table!! And I will tell the story to all my friends not to go!! Why? I spent my time to prepare a surprise bridal party for my girlfriend. I called and made a reservation the day before. Guess what? Three hosts said we never made reservation when my friends arrived. What a service! Fine! We can drop down the name and wait since it's weekday night and we saw not many people inside. But the host told us need to wait 40 minutes!! Can you believe what service Tokyo Table provides?! I was very upset, these hosts screwed up my plan!! I told them I clearly remembered who took my reservation -- Jennifer! Then the host said, ""we have many Jennifer, and she's the waitress not the host"". No way, do you need to know who takes your reservation when you called the restaurant?! Come on! Standing outside and ""enjoying"" the cool winds, the host lead told us that we were the next. And, she gave us the rolling eyes! What a service this host provides to the guesses!
